I heard Aston Villa footballer Dalian Atkinson had one ?
Indeed he did, first one I ever saw used in anger - on the big straight bit of the A518 from Donnington towards Lilleshall - came past my friend's Mk1 MR2 ( who was flat through the gears ) like it was going backwards. IIRC he had a 968 convertible afterwards

Not the first time those two have been matched (I was involved in setting up the "match" (well finding the LC and getting it to the venue) My own car did get a mention (I didn't own it at the time but Lotus had attempted to sell it at that time)

four up and still hitting 175 mph down the straight at Bruntingthorpe lap after lap was amusing

Same car was also featured against the Omega variant in Top Gear Magazine

Got a better snap from the photographer (not as good as you'd probably get these days)

was my desktop for a few years till I replaced it with galileo (this one)

Sort of featured twice before I bought it

In this

Not a magazine

And on a popular TV show - before it went all entertainment and sod all content

No link to that just search youtube

Joe Ellis ( BTB exhausts ) had his re sprayed in white didn't he ( 90 miles in 33 minutes smile )
Erm yes & no. Its not a 'true' LC but a home built version from IIRC a 2.0 shell & LC parts.
And we can't not put up a picture or two can we as well as give a bit of background for those that haven't heard of Joe's exploits

So take a (non lotus) carlton shell (with no sunroof) - full cage to NASCAR spec (reason will become clear) - Full LC running gear and build the whole thing up in Northampton England with a few modifications to cope with the challenge it faced (diff cooler and 120 Litre Bag tank where the rear seats would normally be.

What challenge???

So that's not a ring sticker - that's the Nevada State Classic - open road race competition in the USA and Joe shipped the car over to compete in the event twice before bring it back to the UK

That's 90 miles in 33 mins and he did it twice......

Now Joe is a Ph'r and a proper petrolhead bow and looking at a picture of his car always makes me happy someone could have the commitment to do what he did and show the yanks it ain't all V8's

Has been known to do the odd track day in the UK too

How did it get the newer R plate? -as DVLA say no newer plate on older car
LHD Omega - never register till 1998 therefore allocated an age related plate for a new (to the road in 1998) vehicle

Actually it may have been later than 1998 but I seem to remember talking to a previous owner and it was 98 registered

Almost: first registered October 1997 in Germany. Imported back to UK and registered here December 1997. Both dates = R plate

ooooh, a V8S too, always had a soft spot for them. Nearly bought one, even went as far as buying a massive manual thing for how to fix everything (like someone's homemade Haynes manual in effect!) But then I bought an Elise.
