Oakley Gascans for me, for a while I was wearing some self darkening lenses without realising that they don't work through the cars windsreen . Polarised are best as they allow you to see through the other cars windscreens so you can see if they are paying attention.
tbh I would fine anyone not wearing sunglasses when the suns low in the sky as people get run down and the driver gets off scott free as they claim the sun blinded them when the deaths could have easily been prevented with a £5 pair of shades.

I wore polarised Oakley Nanowires for driving for years. phenomenal for cutting down on glare, and very light.
bought them in 2007 in the states for $300 or so, but last summer the coatings on the lenses started to flake.
I contacted Oakley to purchase a new pair of lenses, but unfortunately they'd been discontinued. Fortunately, the beans at Oakley are good'uns - and offered to replace the glasses free of charge, so I now drive using these
Also polarised, but the lens tint is a slightly different shade, and they are a little heavier to wear.

I have polorised Raybans with green lenses, good for driving. Also some maui jim, very good lenses on those too. Some non polorized Raybans for some good measure.
The polorised raybans are carbon fibre, weight next to nothing and are brilliant. Forget your wearing them, also good for winter months when the sun is low in the sky.

Try some Serengetis and you'll never go back. They're expensive, particularly for prescription ones but worth every penny, when I'm driving I'm usually wearing mine, rain or shine.
+ 1, had a pair of these for 10 years and they make such a difference; you only get one pair of eyes, so look after themAnyone used this place before - seem to have some decent savings:

I've still got a pairs of Ray Ban Aviators and Wayfarers from 20 years ago. My polarised Ray Bans are now well over 10 years old and have had to be bent back into shape a couple of times but are absolutely amazing in the car. They cut out all of the dash reflections in the windscreen, there are not too dark, meaning you don't need to keep removing them through tunnels etc.
If you spread the cost over the years that I have had them, they have been cheaper than the cheap one my wife buys every summer.
Cheap glasses are a waste of money, they seem to work by just being darker lenses, straining your eyes, trying to see things.
