Driving sunglasses?
Discussion
I usually just buy a pair from Asda or something every April or May as they never seem to last over the winter but is it a false economy? Would I be better to buy a decent pair? Whilst I would love a pair or Raybans I would feel stupid paying £80+ on a pair of sunnies. Does anyone have any recommendations? Just normal ones, I don't wear glasses or contacts. Ty!
Whenever I buy expensive sunglasses I lose them quicker than the cheap ones.
I've given up, now if I see a nice pair of sunglasses and they are cheap I buy them. Had a great pair from TK chavs, they were 20 quid and perfect, a few weeks ago my jeep was broken into, they emptied it.
I wasn't bothered about the money and satnav, they took my favourite sunglasses.

Same here... a few years ago my old Ka got broken into for the original Ford CD player. What upset me most was they also took my Police sunglasses, which I loved and were a style no longer available. I use Ray-Bans now, as I find they cut glare brilliantly, and unlike cheaper ones still offer good vision when it goes cloudy for a few minutes... otherwise I'd be trying to remove/put them on again on days when the light fluctuates. The Ray-Bans don't live in the car though... I won't make that mistake again.I've given up, now if I see a nice pair of sunglasses and they are cheap I buy them. Just bought some lowish priced Dirty Dogs; polarised, good frames, about £50.

The best driving sunglasses, according to Walter Rorhl, are Serengeti's.
But as I also lose/sit on glasses with depressing regularity I go to Arco and buy their 'outdoor eye protection' which are just sunglasses with qualifications. They have some great designs (and lots of horrible ones) at really rather bargain prices imo.
These http://www.arco.co.uk/products/3C4300/108073/Pelto... for eleven quid forex are great to keep in the car.

I am always a bit concerned with cheaper lenses how well they actually filter the UVA/UVB, same for fashion brands. If you don't want to spend a fortune then I'd look somewhere like Boots as I can't see them flogging glasses without proper protection. I use polarised Oakleys, nice but not cheap.
I have a pair of RB2132 55 NEW WAYFARER with 'polarized' lenses. Quite frankly, they're awesome. the reduction in glare is just ridiculous! Driving into low sun, I don't even have to put the sun visors down
The case they come with protects them nicely in the door pocket and the build quality is really good.

also lucked onto buying a couple of these in the sales for a tenner each, perfect for travelling and keeping in the car:

Just be careful buying cheap sunnies. They are apart of my PPE and I go through roughly a £100 pair a season as I wear them day in day out.
Cheap ones do not offer any protections from uv or other sun damage to the eye.
I know guys who have had parts of their eye chopped out because of it!

Ray Bans here, not because they were Ray Bans, just because they were the only ones that suited me in Sunglasses Hut that had polarised lenses. Wear them all year round, normally in the car but out and about during the summer too. Only thing I found is that everything's a bit too blue and some car screen displays disappear, I never figured out why though
