Thought about a Ferrari. Bought a 1995 NSX with 24000 miles on it in 2004. Ten years and 160000 miles later the only non routine service has been a faulty AC compressor. The only downside, I am on my second timing belt at $460 to change.
That is fantastic going, both in terms of your mileage and the nod to the NSX. For an almost 20 year old 'supercar' that is impressive stuff indeed. Perhaps the slightly low state of tune and the gentleman's 276 bhp agreement is showing its longer term advantages to the current owners of these cars.I like reading updates on staff cars. Certainly exotic cars.
It helps me believe I am not alone in this world. Wish more people would care about extraordinary cars...the roads would look more appealing.
One point of criticism though. You should not wear a white jacket in a red car with cream upholstery. It clashes.

Once I rode shotgun in one of those when a dealer,
who just had bought my Spider, brought me home.
"Nice sports Fiat, that." He mumbled when he
flored the TR. I assumed he talked about a Fiat
Coupe in the upcoming roundabout, but it was indeed
his sublime way of starting a conversation about
the Ferraris, that were built in the 80ies.
He summed it up like that: Nice engines, but lots
of faulty bits out of the corporate parts bin, which
carry more than one parts code...
He was really into the 1960ies gentleman expresses.
So his view on the TR certainly was not everybodies.
And he must have assumed that the broke student next
to him would never carry the wallet to buy one, anyway.

What colour jacket should one wear in ones red car with cream upholstery when one is not wanting to clash?Of course, the real answer to this is anything except what people here recommend. PH blokes giving fashion advice is like Mumsnet advising on socket sets and synthetic oil choice.

Main dealer prices seen to be the big downside of owning a classic Ferrari. Over 3 grand for fitting a rad and some gaskets seems mental but I suppose the residual value hit for having someone else do it would be even bigger.
I'm led to believe main dealers can be very reasonable for servicing and repairs and compare favourably with independents. Main dealer stamps and invoices in the history file are a very desirable thing.Parts prices tend to be high whoever does the work.
Chris ,which of these cars do you still own ,my man maths add up to £5,000 a month in lease /hpi payments before repair bills on the cars you own, like the 512

I just love the fact that no matter how bad I feel about my car addiction, Chris makes its all ok (relatively speaking). Its the complete honesty I love, like an Alcholics Anonymous confession to a group of similar alcoholics nodding in unison - of course without the life ruining effects!
I lose track of what he has - the 512TR I'd completely forgotten about! Anyone keeping track of his current collection? I love looking at everyone's garage section so disappointed not to see one on Chris' profile
Audi S4 Avant
Ferrari 512TR
RR Autobiography
Ferrari FF
What have I missed?

E30 325i rally car with spare Alpina 2.7 block.
E28 M5
I think he has but can't confirm:
AX GT
Land Rover Defender
205 Gti
I watched a video on Drive where I'm pretty sure he showed his garage and what was in it at the time. A bit like Harry Metcalfe from EVO has done in the past on the EVO youtube channel.
Cayman 2.7
Porsche 2.4T/Tuthill ST hotrod
