I'll be there in an almandine (red) 124 cabrio.

To tell the truth though, even the link to the fuel station, with the word 'saddr' in the google title seemed to describe what we're about to embark on! Anyway, I'm in. See you there.

Zwolf - are you planning to come to/free for the SS at MBW this w/e?
Working, as ever chum.
Pity. Well, here's to a financially successful w/e at work, and hope we can catch up soon - we're pretty geographically close nowadays if you fancy a run-out.

A lovely car, but not as nice an example as the green one posted a few pages back, being sold by the owner who'd had a stroke. IMO.

A purchase from an earlier volume of The Thread, if I recall correctly. There's more info here:

Good luck slippery - we need another thread buy.

ETA - I've removed the pic of a wonderful classic Austin 10. It's not really for me to put in the public domain without permission.

Lovely, lovely, lovely. These are beautiful cars, aren't they? Why did I sell mine? Why oh why? I wouldn't care, I gave the money to my wife and haven't seen it since.

Looks very well kept, but for the undersized engine.

I know there is much love for the larger-engined stuff, but is a 420 really undersized in any meaningful way?

It's never going to challenge a proper sports car - and I doubt few drivers would want it to - so surely condition and provenance is more important at the 3k (minus) and 25-year (plus) point than its displacement?

+1 to the above. It's also meant to be the smoothest of the 3 v8s from what I've been told. I see it as no hardship at all and wouldn't let it put me off. Condition and history (particularly the recent spend) are the key details in this game...

I agree. If they had originally been fitted with either a 2.8, 3.2 or topoftherange wowfabgroovy 4.2, I don't think there'd be any grumbling about the 4.2.

Context, innit.

Fuel costs are often bandied about here.

What is the general consensus on LPG?
Those who have it love it. I have it installed on my 530i M Sport Touring and love it to bits.
Have it on my E320 Estate and XJS. Love it.

275 miles to £35 on each car.

Changeover is literally seamless, and I honestly can't tell which fuel I'm using.

LPG is the only way either car is practical for me as daily drivers.
