Could be a decent 300ce aside the somewhat irritating advert.
Mileage is a bit high but seems ok

You are aware I have run (for 3.5 years and 30k miles) an E21 BMW which, whilst unrefined, noisy, and slow.....I absolutely loved purely because it had bags and bags of character. In many ways, I still miss it. So I do know what you mean about old cars.
I'm not sure if this quote is correct across the new thread. Perhaps you would like a W124 then - Derin's post was interesting, the W124 is unrefined at motorway speeds compered to contemporary cars.
But, on my 300 mile journey each way many weekends I look forward to using the W124 - I enjoy the 4.X hours I take each way so much. The double glazed A8 was far quieter, far quicker, better equipped and so on. But it made the journey less of an impact on my weekend rather than an attraction in itself. A flight is a better alternative to the A8 - ie not driving at all.
I will do 650 miles in my W124 this weekend, with a flight possible each way - I will take the W124 despite the cost being more! I'd never do that with any other car i have owned or rented!

What a lovely looking bit of kit, and with a proper V8 throbber to boot* For all the comments at the time about how conservative Jag styling was with the X300 it's aged remarkably well IMHO and may well come to be considered as the last of the "proper" Jags before tinsel and flashy lights took over. That said, I note the judicious lack of pics of the (no doubt shagged) drivers seat.http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/j...

* in reality the whiny supercharger is as audible as anything else
Sometimes Ebay delivers in spades. This arrived this morning. £40. And with the original box. Lovely condition, although I appreciate it's not quite period for my 1991 500 SL. My wife just laughed at me when I ran upstairs and waved my new knob in her face. Apparently I'm "some sort of saddo". I'm sure it'll get more love here.

That said, it wasn't standard. It came with a 4 speed box which h I changed to a 5 speed, I changed the carburettor, put on 15 inch bbs wheels from an E30, changed the interior from an E30 318is, lowered it with lowered springs and stiffer shocks.... It was a right laugh. Slow, noisy, dated but fun.
So please trust me when I say I do genuinely "get" the old car thing
