Hi Harry

My heart skipped a beat when I saw it last week - but the steering wheel is missing!
A 280 Sportline? ah an import - i wonder if any UK cars come in that 4 seat spec ? - a handful -if that

Bought my aged father this today. Mondeo V6 Ghia X in JRG with only 55k miles and FSH.

Drove it back from Swindon. The ventilated seats were a revelation and no doubt very good for the sperm count.
What about the old ticker ?
Vehicle excise duty rate for vehicle
12 Month rate.................... £485.00

The phrase 'It has a electric folding retractable roof' [sic] is the one that would make me think twice.

There were very few in the UK with the 4 seat option. I missed out on a black 320 with a red leather 4 seat interior in London about a year ago.

£200 difference - 3 tanks of petrol.

In the grand scheme of things, not a big deal?

In place of working for a living I am busy nurturing a BMW E23 fantasy. How about this? Nicest one I've seen for a while although, I seem to recall, E23 purchases have not gone well on this thread! And, even if they are original, the BBS spoilers would have to go

I like high mileage cars. After all, a pair of front shocks and a new rear axle are going to see that in fine fettle for a while yet. If it has come this far it can hardly be a dud. But there is a bit of BS about the ad. "No rust anywhere": so what is going on on the bottom of the doors? "Full extended leather" which was not an option offered on 210s and this one doesn't seem any different to the rest (although it does appear to have ventilated seats). Nice banger at £2k, though.

This was for sale when I bought mine. If you could get it for around 2k there would be worse things to smoke around in. The ad does annoy me though, especially the no rust comment.

I'm sure the photos flatter to deceive and there is some interesting stain age on the nearside rear seat back but that looks like an outstanding way to bum about for the next ten months.

Found this sorry sight - a W124 Estate graveyard of 11 mostly 300 and 320s caught in a race between destruction by cannibalisation or by succumbing to the elements.

Prefer the £285 ones- the jump to £485 is about 40 Years worth of road tax inflation. And nobody likes giving that amount to Govt .Sorry, not for me.
