Not asked my mate yet but a check on camskill suggests I can get 4 goodyear tyres delivered for around £680 which isn't too bad at all. I can get them delivered to the workshop and they'll be able to fit the tyres for me.....Could potentially be >£100 cheaper smile

Probably doesn't count as a barge, unlike say the Merc 190 / W124 which I started out looking for, but it's withint thread budget - here's my latest acquisition, from Old Colonel Cars, a BMW 325i coupe.

Has been down in Yorkshire getting various jobs done & I'll be picking it up to drove back to Aberdeen in a fortnight's time.

63k miles, absolutely lovely. It belongs on this thread in my opinion as a mini barge - 6 cylinders, smallish wheels, far more comfortable than some run-flat M-sport nonsense. A far better engine than most modern barges (ie a BMW NA petrol straight 6, not a diesel or turbo). Congratulations!

What about E90/91s?

I suspect I hand in my membership to this thread tomorrow.

89k and £4k. That seems absurd value for money. http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/2014...

Lovely. Nice to see the original (pre 01) plates on it too.
Would it be completely ridiculous to think of that in terms of being my London car? It's only just a couple of miles away. Hmm, perhaps this is the wrong audience to ask. wobble

These are going up in value - it would be ridiculous to think of it in any terms other than a car you cannot afford not to buy.

Surely? smile

At least go and take a look at it - for us...

My r129 is my London car and is used daily to smoke around visiting jobs and commuting from richmond to chelsea. Perfect for the job too.

Mine's a daily. For 12 years now I've smoked in and out of Newcastle upon Tyne in it (although I am not one of those Geordies who thinks the Toon is the world's biggest metropolis).

Edit: and I am just about to cane it home from work at this late hour. 30miles. Any bets on how many minutes?

Bargeish

5k but a bit of fun.

I'm thinking Legend SH-AWD or ST220, Legacy Spec B.

Any other contenders?

Links welcome

Well it certainly wasn't London registered, looks like a Stourbridge / Wolverhampton MB dealer registed car (unless it was given the plate after a plate transfer, but that would have been completed it the same area, and as stated the actual reg plates are quite old)

Check our oponeo and tyre leader as well, they were cheapest a few months ago when I was getting the same tyres as you.

Agreed, definitely belongs here. Looks a cracker - well done. The wait for it over the next 2 weeks will seem interminably slow.

Speaking of old type reg plates, does anyone know of a source for them now? I had to replace the original ones on my 124 for the MOT this year and the new type just look wrong on it!

Tyre leader tend to be cheapest, but there have been some bad reports on the age of the tyres they provide.
However pneus online will price match (and beat by 3%) tyre leader. Plus you can get a further 3% cashback from topcashback with pneus.

I know what you mean.

This place offers them. http://www.platesforcars.co.uk/designer.php#number... In the "Font" drop down menu, select "UK Old Legal". I always order plates without the legally-required markings (the BS number and the post code of the maker). I hate all that crap. Just the letters on a plain background for me.

Framptons are reputed to be the best for classic plates. www.pl8s.co.uk though you may have to call them as none of the plates on their website is quite right.

You mean without the post code and badge rubbish? Just a clean white or yellow plate with black numbers?

I've used these guys for my Caterham. Select show plate.
