Looks great. Well done Ryvita. It may be technically too cheap for this thread(!) but we love anything interesting, old and potentially ruinous.

That looks a great buy; good luck with the drive south.

That is lovely. At less than a bag you don't even need all the bits to work. Enjoy the waft Ryvita, proper barging and not the pseudo-classic sort that seems to dominate the thread

A nice enough looking 730: http://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C467487 and only £995

"White with black leather interior. 91,000 miles. MOT till March 2014. Tax till September 2014. This is an unmolested car in good, original condition. I am only the second owner having bought the car in 2004. Electric seats, windows and sun roof, and cruise control all working. Service history, receipts, MOT's, all manuals, original radio, 2 keys."

Wrong engine for me, I'd most like a 35i M30 or 40i M60...

I reckon you'd quite like an E32 0a. Good, solid cars. Plus, those M30's just keep going.
Nice but...

MOT's out and no-buy zone (thanks Zwolf, I love that phrase) location.

Anyone dealt with "carswithnoreserve"? Its all obviously a bit Arfur Daley with the cars flipped straight from BCA, but you get to view the car more thoroughly and avoid the extortionate private buyer fees. Terms are reasonable.

Lots of interesting stock.

I've retreated to the Algarve for the long weekend. Just hitched a ride in a W210 taxi but not a model I've seen on UK soil. E290 Turbodiesel. Sounded as if it was a 5 cylinder.

From what I saw at the taxi rank in Faro airport, as much as 20% of the taxi fleet down here is the W124 and not one rusty front wing amongst them!

I bought a Renault Avantime from them via Ebay. They were easy to deal with and the car was as described. I ended up keeping it for 2 years with minimal trauma.

Seems relatively up-front and they make no claims that the cars will be mint etc so no big surprises beyond buying from auction house one would hope.

I must say the rear of the S600 looks a very fine place to waft about in. Drivers spot not too shabby either!

That Audi cab looks great for the money, they really are becoming classics. It fits in well here - this thread is surely about cars that work well wafting about and that fits the brief.

I have the w124 to upgrade, after that I'd like a soft-top but I'm yet to decide whether to go the merc SL route, bargain cab (could be an Audi but I think I would be lucky to fine one like yours for that money) or a completely different direction with some kind of Mx5 type thing.

Are there any issues with the Audi v6 (cooling?) to watch out for or are they pretty bombproof - I seem to remember there being plenty about in their various forms back in the day with fairly high miles.

So yesterday I finally summoned up the courage and bought my first ever Shed. I think it just about classifies for this thread?

'96 Audi Cab 2.6 v6 for less than a grand? And it had a cambelt 10,000 miles ago? and it has 5 months MOT? well, how could I not...

Oh, and the engine bay, which seems not to have been steam cleaned, looks like this:

there are a few odds and ends wrong with it cosmetically (that passenger side mirror is a touch wonky, but otherwise seems to be in remarkably fine shape. Fingers crossed... I'm off to drive it down to the south coast now. Wish me luck! smile

Wembley? Is it that bad?!

The seller chose a photo with a whole load of hedge in it - surely a good sign?

I like it. I had an E plate 730i SE in Royal Blue with Silver hide a couple of decades ago and although it was no fire cracker, it was far from tedious. At this price point I'd be more than happy if it was as nice at it looks.

I bought an 'L' reg '94 Audi Cabriolet 2.6 round about this time last year. It cost around £540 from eBay but had just 6 weeks MOT left. When I picked it up I discovered it had an almost complete Audi service history from Whites of Wimbledon, which was not mentioned at all in the listing! 17 services in 19 years at Audi, with the 18th being at a local garage.

I got my garage to check it over - all it needed was a thermostat (seems to be a common Audi problem) and a fog light bulb and it came away with 13 months MOT. As a treat I had it serviced at Worthing Audi on their fixed price service scheme. From memory just over £500 for full service and gearbox fluid change, including front brake pads. A further £300 for a replacement rear screen - the original was intact but very cloudy, and a similar amount for 4 new Dunlops.

Since then it's been faultless - only done around 4,000 miles to be fair, but it was quite happy this morning in an hour long queue / stop start driving on the A303 at Stonehenge in the Easter sunshine and, I've heard will still move along at a fair old rate of knots ;-). Remarkably solid and rattle free for a 20 year car!

I remember test driving a 2.6 Coupe demonstrator back in 94 and it was indeed very nice. Then I drove a Corrado VR6 and ordered one immediately. I loved that little car. cloud9

My dilemma was an early E36 325! 4dr or a Corrado VR6 - both sounded superb but the BMW won purely on price....

My W123 280E suffered from a cracked spring once. Actually what happened was the cup the spring sat in on the lower wishbone rusted enough to let the spring break free and shatter itself on the road at full force. First I knew of it was returning to a car that was sitting a bit funny.

I take it this is a 6 cylinder? (I prepare to be surprised as both jag and BMW made little V8s)

For under £1,000 this 7 seems like excellent value.

Yes. The V8 came in around 93 IIRC. I'm sure I can remember them offering both at that point, but I could be wrong.
