The colours of the £795 one are much nicer to my eyes, and you can boast about achieving a sub £100/cylinder purchase price: always a bargain!
That one has been on sale for at least 2 years.

I had a drive in this on Friday:

My friend has just bought it for £1,500, 84,000 miles. The quality of the interior is amazing. It puts contemporary Mercs to shame. It was unworn. Very spacious, smooth and silent drive-line, slightly brittle ride I thought. I can see how people are converted to Lexus. Heated rear seats, as well.
.
NODA taxis - as used in 'The Likely Lads'...

I was offered a P or R plate metallic grey LS400 with green leather and carpets earlier this year. Had about 80k on the clock and they wanted £1k for it. They were the second owners but had left all the service history in their rental property. Drove great - felt more solid than my XJ8. We had just fitted new rear springs and a pair of OE Dunlop SPs to it.

I passed on it as I couldn't justify another vehicle at the time.

I like these cars, but those wheels...

What on Earth were they thinking?
Agreed, standard wheels are poor. My LS400 would have to have the Dynamic Handling Pack so as to have the nicer wheels.

They are stupendous value for money. I'd love to sample one one day, just to see what the fuss is all about. I just can't get over how so boring they look. Inside and out.

I'm financially and psychologically committed to the Rover for another year (well, April '15) and I was all for a BMW 728 or 740 as replacement, then I was definitely going XJ8 But now I'm all "must have an LS400"

Pics of my latest acquisition, 51 E240 2.6 V6 after a polish and wax this weekend. After getting the rear arches done, I'm committed now so wheels are going in for a refurb next week.

On the still to do list - 12 spark plugs and a gearbox oil and filter change on the 'sealed for life' unit.

Very nice. The small V6 is so smooth, very therapeutic.

Ross, I will be purchasing an LS430 soon and will be in Southampton sgain shortly after so you will be welcome to try mine.

I agree they look dull (especially compared to yours) but they are the most relaxing ca
r to be in and the sound system is stupendous!

I really wanted an A8 but the bork potential is what made me go for the Lexus.

Looks good! I'm still enjoying my w210, they get slated and rightly so in most cases but get a good one and they're great cars.

Before you do, I'd recommend browsing the LS forum about the LS430. It's a nicer place to be than the LS400, but heaps more problems. Mk3/Mk4 LS400 is the better buy if you want to avoid risk of bork.

Thanks for the comments on the W210 chaps. It's a lovely car and I've spent a few quid on it now getting it right.

Just need to decide what to do with my Vectra :

I've owned it from 6 months old and it's wanted for nothing over the years. Problem is, it's pretty much worthless in the marketplace today (2.0T petrol, 53 plate, 125k) so I'll no doubt just end up keeping it and alternating between the two until the Jag re-appears in the Spring.

(Apols for the thread de-railment, I know this isn't readers cars)
