That E32 is fit to crunch gravel absolutely anywhere.

It does look lovely. I'd be interested to know what warning message on the dash has been cleared though - the triangle symbol at each end of the display is a giveaway...

Could well be, or just a bulb gone, but could also be a range of other things, so it would be worth checking if someone was interested in the car.

Yup. That E32 is a lovely car. I really like these, so much charm, same with the E34s. Plus, that's got the rather reliable M30 lump in it. Pretty poor on fuel given the performance, but that's just old tech for you I guess.

Regarding the warning triangles.... The worst I ever had on the E38 was a blown bulb. But that "bong" noise would always make me think "oh fk, what's wrong" even if it was ambient temperature below 3 degrees hehe

How is the 728i by the way? Hope it's serving you ok.

Managed to give the E65 a clean earlier, but it's due to rain tomorrow so I'm sure it'll look dirty again for Sunday.

Indicator lenses look wrong to me (not an e38 expert though!) - good money spent but no mention of fixing the fuel tank. The 735 also seems unloved here.

A great colour with the interior though!

Time for a proper left field mini-barge? I give you the W8:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2002-VW-PASSAT-W8-4motio...

A few issues with these, especially autos but as a Jap import with low miles and hopefully no corrosion it has the potential to be rather pleasant (for a Passat)

I agree about the indicators but they are standard. Those ones on the facelift cars have always looked aftermarket to my eyes.

Ultimate Q car maybe - but you're into Phaeton territory at £4k

True although the mileage will be at least double (probably triple) and it'll be a front wheel drive diseasal. More of a collectors (of strange automotive oddities!) piece than a smoker barge perhaps.

And the W8 is rather interesting - the Phaeton less so!

I feel a bit sorry for him after all the car is really cheap (especially by the time you have a good haggle!).

Another nice enough looking W124 for £2k http://www.classicwise.co.uk/cars/1989f-mercedes-w...

Right. Up. My. Street. Yumm! You wait for a nice pre-Sacco 6 cyl saloon for ever, then as soon as you buy something else, one pops up. The Bornite 300E above gave me a palpitation too.

Pretty sure those are not oem even for a facelift. These are the £20 jobbies from ebay which are pretty much the main option for replacement items when the originals go (which they do)

I really like that! I'd say they're a trader judging by the plate in the rear window, although I can't see he's stating he's a trader in the ad...

On a T plate they should be gingers still, clear lenses on all models arrived in mid-2000 for the 2001MY spec or on Sport models - which that car isn't. It has been colour coded, possibly factory, possibly aftermarket I'd suspect by the black trim strip along the sill.

Not a Sport model as a) it has the wrong style of wheels (32s rather than 37Ms), B) standard headlining and c) the wrong wood, looks low enough to have the optional ALPINA suspension, also it's too early to be a Sport model, they appeared for the 2001MY also, so 00W plate onwards. Prior to that there was a sport pack, featuring the M steering wheel, contour seats, dechroming, colour coding, ALPINA suspension and style 32s (plus silver headlamp inserts on pre-facelift cars), which are all present on that example.

So 735i with optional sport pack, not a Sport model.

Reading that, and also knowing that myself, you've made me realise I haven't shaved for quite a while....

And what happened after I said it'd rain after I cleaned the car.... It rained! Parked under a tree and it was covered in leaves. Always the way isn't it!
