I do like an XJR. I had this one on my watch list yesterday and forgot about it. The line about a slight misfire is a bit of a concern. (just a coil pack or as serious as the head gasket?), if it is something fairly minor though it looks like someone got a bit of a bargain for a late X308 (anyone on here?!)

Could be an easy fix, could be a nightmare! To be honest if an engine light is lit I'd take a diag reader and see what it could be. For £2k, that looked great.

fksocks. Red wine (yes, this early on a Monday) and ebay do not make for rational barge shopping. Think I've just effectively set fire to £1K, if not more.

banghead

Oh well. At least the 290bhp ECUs for it are cheap as, er, chips.

That looks pretty magnificent, is it a T5?

It is a T5, yes.

Never mind magnificent though it needs to have a naked Jenna Coleman lying in the back for what I just paid for it!

* Lexus LS430 This is what I would like but not seen any that are worth the money being asked, (and are NOT gold!)
Have you considered a GS430? I've found you tend to get better value for money out of them and they still keep the Lexus-ness of the LS. "Levinson" models have fantastic sound systems.
Excellent advice thanks biggrin
Had not thought of the GS430, but a quick search turned up an interesting one that is not too far away.

VW Phaeton.
Reputedly excellent cars, but only VW can make something so luxurious look so dull.

Had the Terraclean treatment on the E300 diesel today. It seems a bit freer running than it was but also a bit less smooth. We'll see if it makes a difference at the pumps. The chap seems to know a lot about my engine, anyway.

We have all been there, and considering I am most of the way through a bottle of wine I will take your story as warning to keep away from Ebay tonight! wink

How much did it cost R129?

That looks great - I have paid bigger bills on my still-nowhere-near-complete W124. I have always liked the idea of one of these T5s as the perfect car to drive from Edinburgh to the Midlands via the A68 on a rainy, miserable dark night with all my kit in the boot.

If anything like as described, the lack of bills to sort the basics mean it's excellent value.

I'll be doing the first 100 miles of that route in a couple of days, all being well.

A 300CE would add to your garage nicely, but then you said we don't talk about them much on here (we do!). Perhaps a return to the Z4 as a wafter smile

You can't tell us you've bought something without expecting us to guess!

I was watching this and had an itchy trigger finger to say the least. Surely a Volvo estate can always be justified!?

I think it looks fantastic and really look forward to an update when you collect 😃

I saw this linked to last week sometime and was considering it, but then couldn't find it. Car is only a few miles from me too. Would have made a lovely barge for transporting the dog smile

A bit more than I would have paid but by no means the disaster implied in your post at the top of the page.

£126.

All the gunk in there was probably the only thing holding it together and now it'll disintegrate, knowing my luck.

My post a few pages ago with the later S90 was better value at little over £1k. Then again, a car is worth what someone will pay for it.
