fksocks. Red wine (yes, this early on a Monday) and ebay do not make for rational barge shopping. Think I've just effectively set fire to £1K, if not more.
Oh well. At least the 290bhp ECUs for it are cheap as, er, chips.
Ah, the one loon posted on t'other place, was on my watch list. Magnificent. Oh well. At least the 290bhp ECUs for it are cheap as, er, chips.

Hmmm thought the price was fishy. Next nearest is 10k, making that one scammity mcscam.
Something definitely odd This is their website

Telephone number in Norfolk.
But the number on the ad is for a phone in Chippenham, Wiltshire.
The stock list doesn't scream scam though:

Hmmnnn... An A7 3.0tdi for £8k?A 2010 V70 at three and a half?

The only major bork factor on these is the steering rack - cannot be replaced in part so it can be a £6k fix..... Do you feel lucky punk? comes to mind.
I'm looking for a lower mileage one of these (60k ish) as next car to replace my LS430.

O wise and learned gentlemen of this thread, I call upon your assistance.
I am now properly looking for a barge, and as is always the case, when you have the money, there is nothing of interest around!
What am I looking for?
Thanks
Dave
I would ignore your E65 ban and buy this 760 (negotiating to 20% over budget in my imaginary world) http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/2014...I am now properly looking for a barge, and as is always the case, when you have the money, there is nothing of interest around!
What am I looking for?
- V8 goodness.
- Toys, lots of toys (heated front and rear seats, GOOD sound system).
- Top end of thread budget or above for the right car.
- FULL documented history.
- Not an E65 BMW (too many inherent flaws).
- Audi A8 (still make me nervous with the electrics, but tick the boxes and Mrs LB approves.
- Lexus LS430 This is what I would like but not seen any that are worth the money being asked, (and are NOT gold!)
- Mercedes...hmmm. Can I find one without rust and impending bork?
Thanks
Dave

As others have said, that is just TOO cheap. I would expect one with that mileage to be nearer £6-7k.
Something really not right...
Ok guys, based on a suggestion of the Lexus GS430 I would appreciate opinions on these 2 please?

I am struggling to see where the £1,500 price difference comes from, aside of one sitting on a dealer forecourt!

That's exactly your answer. The private sale one looks really good. FSH, full MOT (no advisories), and I think it's SE-L spec (did they do the 430 in just SE?)
Under bonnet shot on the private sale shows a heck of a lot of dust! Almost like someone emptied a dyson over it
If you don't mind cream interior it looks the better buy - the dealer fake wood is pretty hideous especially as it's on the steering wheel too. Same trim as my dad's is250 se-l spec in terms of the wood

Thanks for the input, pretty much as I was thinking .
I am going to view the private sale one tomorrow morning (sounds very promising).
And yes I am going with the appropriate amount of cash as suggested
So, potential thread purchase!
