Gents any thoughts on this 530 champagne? Strong money?

Someone from another forum viewed it and reported back that it didn't stand up to close inspection, nor was it worth the asking.

Another e39 Champagne Edition. Not my thread, but looks like a very nice car.

Certainly striking, you've got to give it that.

Looks superb. I can't think of another car as big that could carry that colour.

Thanks for the input, pretty much as I was thinking smile.

I am going to view the private sale one tomorrow morning (sounds very promising).

And yes I am going with the appropriate amount of cash as suggested wink

So, potential thread purchase! smile

The best thing about test driving a Lexus is that you don't have to bother checking whether everything works wink

If it drives well on the day then it will drive just as well in 5 years time - and probably in a further 5, too.

Glad I got in quick with all the resurgence in E39 love, mine must be worth a fortune now. At the risk of tempting fate, I'm absolutely loving smoking around in mine but pointlessly prodding the pedal at any opportunity coz it makes a nice noise = 15.5 MPG smile

Disclaimer - that's tongue in cheek (I hope!). In all seriousness, bits like the like window motors do go in the LS400, and the electric steering column motor could be a nasty one as well. A/C parts must be just as likely to age as with any other car. You've got to be just as careful as you would with any barge I'm afraid. No easy outs round here.

I will check whether everything works, but I expect it will.
HPI checked out fine (now have 2 spare HPI checks to get used in next 3 months though).
If I buy it, then next job is a set of winter tyres - rwd and snow is not a good mix as I know very well!

Thanks again for the suggestion, I had completely forgotten about the GS430! beer
