The reason I say if I can afford to keep it...I'm saving for a house purchase....circumstances may force sale when the time comes; also, sadly, was diagnosed with a brain tumour just last week and the neurologists aren't sure exactly what to do yet as it's an extremely rare tumour so I'm waiting to hear back (should be tomorrow!!) on their plan of action. I've been very ill for a long time, it's taken them 15 months (!!!!!) to find it. I'm hoping they can fix me....if not, I'll leave it to my best mate to do with as he pleases (he's also a PHer and a barge fan, and really likes the car). If I require surgery I probably won't be able to drive for a while.
I cannot describe just how fresh it feels, it's amazing.
Wish you all the best. I hope and pray everything works out for you.I cannot describe just how fresh it feels, it's amazing.

That sounds like a very well looked after car. Do you think all the maintenance will add to the resale value markedly or just make it easier to sell?
I have literally no idea. It will probably be a bit of both....not a massive resale value but I'd certainly want more, and I think it'd be easier to sell too, of course.Based on all that if I can afford to keep it it'll be staying for a while yet. The only big potential bills left after the coolant and oil leaks....once that's done the car will be fantastic....it isn't leaking coolant but it's the only big potential bill left (famous last words).

That puts things into perspective. Cars? Pah!
I came home tonight a gibbering wreck after work and really want to run away and cry, but I'm fit and healthy and have a job to go to, so I'll 'man up' after reading that.
We're all total strangers in internet-land so what one says to another really means very little, but I hope you get through this and get to drive your E65 and other fine cars, and regale us with your spending experiences for years to come.
Best of luck Ross.
Thanks chaps, means a lot.
Based on what I've been told so far it's largely speculation at this point; but IF it's the most common type of tumour at this stage (again, that's a big if....considering even the most common type is very rare) then surgery is the most likely option, with a circa 20% 1year post-op mortality rate....so fairly high risk. I'm remaining positive, I'm not even 26, I'm otherwise very fit and healthy so that's on my side. They have said though that they aren't 100% what they can do, as yet.
I've still been able to work but I've been vomiting on a very nearly daily basis for 15 months now with a few other symptoms like dizziness and feeling sick/nauseous most of the day....as you can imagine, it's really quite annoying! So after a long day at work when you're feeling a bit st coming home in the E65 makes it that bit more comforting
Hopefully it won't need any more spent on it now until MOT time in March. I'm sure it will, mind - just call me "0a the 2nd coming"
Should hear back from neurologist tomorrow, though suspect that'll be largely a "come in to see us in a couple of days to discuss what's going to happen"

Best of luck Ross. It's amazing what the doctors can do these days. I know 4 people with similar conditions that have made great (and very quick!) recoveries.
Posted something similar to this in your post in your Health Matters thread. I won't repeat myself, but wishing you the very best for some good news and speedy treatment and recovery Ross. This sets my spidey senses tingling a bit - is it the bork? Any ideas?

That's nice apart from the badges on the wings!
I'd really, really like an XJ40 one.
There's some debate on one of the Jag forums about whether they might be OE. There's certainly another one out there with the same V12 badges. I'd happily lose both but the Union Jack one has been screwed into the bodywork so I'm pretty much limited to leaving it with both or just that one unless I want to get into the hassle of filling and repainting, etc.I'd really, really like an XJ40 one.
The X300 V12 had very small V12 badges on the central stainless steel pillar between the doors.
I prefer the XJ40 version too, but they are rare cars now.
