Yes, it's the Alpina B8 4.6.

Has an uprated version of the 4.4 V8. BMW originally said a V8 wouldn't fit in the E36, and Alpina said they'd make it happen. Amid a lot of sniggering at BMW, they said "Sure!" and handed over the blueprints for their engine, then 221 shells. 27 were Tourings. I think they needed to make something like 40-50 adaptions to the car to make the V8 fit properly; it was a labour of love. It only came as a 6-speed manual, and the boss at Alpina has a convertible B8 as his own personal 'fun' car. It's his favourite project, apparently.

Baseline figures- 333bhp, similar amount of torque, top speed of 175+mph, 0-60 in 5-ish seconds. LSD and ASC to control all that tyre-shredding torque.

This is Chris's- it's truly lovely.

Next time he brings it round I'll be cleaning it before we take photos- it had just made a trip from Luxembourg to Southampton..!

That B8 is a beauty, one of my very favourite E36 models

The GTO was usable as a dog carrier, provided I didn't want to carry passengers or luggage.
Hence the Jeep:

She can go in the 'boot' but the harness clips into two seatbelt sockets and she enjoys the view more from here.

Another vote for a BMW Z4M coupe. That's what we bought to ferry our labrador around. Quickly.

Huge boot with the back seats down. Would be big enough for them two dogs with the seats up and the parcel shelf removed in fact. Id buy a "hatchback" cage:

Try one, they are an absolute hoot bounce
Bosley the bulldog travels in the boot of my RS. When I first owned it I thought the dull thud from the back end when I accelerated was him falling over. Now I realise it's the stupidly loud popping exhaust. laugh

It was a while ago, but I used to have a Sierra XR4x4 2.9 Estate which I used as a rally Chase Car, that was quick (then) and more than enuff room for 2 Labradors.

A Subaru Legacy GTB, or a Mitsubishi Gallant VR4 estate are more than capable.

I would correct your grammar, but you own an Aston, so you win,
