Mercedes r129 SL500 - there are some great looking sub £5k cars out there, and looking at the prices of previous SLs and considering the usability of the car I don't think they will get any cheaper.

Alfa Romeo 156 GTAs seem ridiculously cheap at the moment, especially compared to the 147 GTA. I can really see them rising in price soon.
This;
Even a well specced up 156 Veloce with the V6, especially a Sportwagon, they are already in demand. Another for those of an Italian bias Alfa GT V6, last Car the Busso V6 was used in.

Also a little further down the line a Prodrive Brera.

One just up the road from me for £395. I am tempted, but it does have 217,000 miles on the clock.........

Jaguar XJS, a couple of years ago there were plenty around for shed money, they all seem to start around 5k now for one that's mechanically sound.

Saab Viggen (well, i hope so)
How much do they go for? Always wanted one and I've seen the 2.0T hot aero's with the same bumpers for under a grand!
I've just bought a 9-5
Aero HOT and the seller (a friend) wanted a grand. Full service history, clean car etc.

After him trying to sell it for two months I finally offered him £150 more than webuyanycar. Got it for £300 all in. That right there is rock bottom pricing for a 10 year old, 120k stage ii tuned aero.

It's risk free. Anything major goes wrong, it will just get scrapped.

What's the worst that could happen you'd be able to weight it in for not far off half that so really £200 to run it till it breaks cheap as chips.

C5 RS6 prices have bottomed out and are rising from what I've seen over the last year.

MR2 Mk2 (especially the turbos) -- Mk1s have already turned
Fiat Cinquecento Sporting (few left, decimated by evil Labour Government policy)

I own both, so admit an interest!

E 46 M3, but too many still on the road. A fantastic ( if too heavy ) all rounder.

M3 CSL E46 already is and will continue
M3 E46 CS has a good shout for those who want CSL but cannot quite afford it
M3 E46 vanilla spec there are thousands and thousands of these - main stream production car which had a lifespan of Y reg to 56 reg prices seem to have bottomed out but will they raise ??? A great car without question but one which will increase in value I'd say you've a LONG wait. If not post up why as given the prices they are at now it would be worth buying a good one and keeping it

Vauxhall VX220, especially the Turbo version. Already been rising steadily for the past year. A great car, provided the roof is not leaking when it rains. A modernday Vauxhall Lotus Carlton.

Lambo Gallardo now rising in value. About +10% in the past 3 months, by some accounts. A flight to quality after the mixed reception for the Huracan.

I think that almost anything from the late 90s will appreciate provided that it is immaculate, low mileage, completely original with no modifications, and (probably) at or near the top of the range. A couple of likely candidates - E34 535, Range Rover P38 Autobiography.

E36 M3's I feel are about to rocket, believe it or not the Saxo will in about 10 years in the same way the nova did, I'd like to say mg ZS but I can't see people bothering with them, also Alfa 156 v6!

Quite a few fast Hondas will start going uo in value very soon.

CH1 Accord Type-R - they're being broken for parts left right and centre atm. One of the proper old school Type-Rs. Getting quite rare and they're a fantastic car. Picked mine up for £1200.

DC2 Integra Type-R - same as above. Although these seem to have a bit more of a following. Can get a minter for £3500-4k now.

EG6 Civic VTi - Already very, very rare due to the amount that were bought cheaply a few years ago and then ragged about. A lot were probably stolen too as the security isn't the best on them. A lot have been ripped to pieces for engines etc too. You could say they're already on the up tbh, they're very sought after, and I paid £2000 for mine in January.

EK4 Civic VTi - Not that sought after yet as a lot of people just have engine swapped 1.4s etc. Seem to see quite a few getting broken.

MB6 Civic VTi - Will take a fair while as they're not the best looking cars but these are being stripped for their engines and LSD gearboxes as fast as breakers can buy them. Will get very rare very quickly over the next couple of years.

EP3 Civic Type-R - Getting cheap now and are very popular so will have a lot of people after them when they can afford them again in 5-10 years. Loads seem to be getting crashed at the minute too.

Saxo VTS - Not my sort of car but had/have a massive following and are peanuts to buy at the minute.

Impreza/EVO - I've wanted one since I was 6 and so has half of my generation - says it all.
