Sorry to hear about your oldman.

Another vote here for a Jazz. My 90 year old Nan has one and loves it to bits. She does say the auto box is a bit jerky but I think there are two types of gearboxes that were used.

We looked at the Hyundai i10 for m Mum last year, decided it felt very flimsy, clutch too light, spongy brake pedal, vague gearbox, didn't look like it'd survive any impact at all.

Settled on a Nissan Note after considering the Jazz and 5 door Yaris, decent size, reliable 1.4 petrol engine, good space, easy to park etc etc.

How old is it? if it is the MK1 with a CVT box get the oil changed, it should be left in neutral at traffic lights as the clutch get too hot.
Source the oil off ebay, very easy job to diy.

Just been talking to a relative of my wife who owns an i20 & her husband an i10. She loves them both & says the i20 barely gets used because the i10 is so easy to jump in and go.
