Anyone go on holiday on Spain in the 1980's and rent a car like a Mini Moke? I remember I did (well the family - I was too young to drive) in Ibiza and Llorett de Mar - it was classy then! We had this thing a bit like a Mini Moke. Wasn't like a normal car - sort of a buggy. Think it was Spanish. Anyone know what they were? Trying to find a pic of one.

Yes! I remember my dad hiring one in Majorca. My only memory is of driving back from Sa Calobra to Pollenca, I was 11 and my sister was 10, even when the sun went down it was warm enough without a roof, we lay in the back watching the stars and were fast asleep by the time we got back to the hotel, happy days smile

In fact yes that's it. You're a star. What a piece of junk. Brings back some happy memories though!

I remember a club in Alcudia used to use one to cruise about and give people lifts to the club when I went there in 1985...

Good link but I'm pretty sure it's the Mehari. It's the corrugated panels that give it away. Can't think of anything else that has those. Apart from a 2CV!

I seem to recall it was called Menta. I remember being well impressed that it had an outside dance floor...with a fountain (which was useful for pushing girls in for an impromptu wet t-shirt show!

I have fond memories of my dad hiring a 1.0 Panda in Ibiza. My mum, dad, brother and me in it with two generous suitcases and it was slightly asthmatic. Once my dad had stopped at the supermarket and bought his two weeks worth of beer (which was on me and my brother laps) it barely moved. Then to find our villa was on top of a very steep hill was comical. I could have walked up it quicker hehe

We went to Majorca in 1978. For a family of 8 (me aged 4, mum, dad, auntie, uncle and 3 cousins) who needs a people carrier when you can fit everyone in a mk1 Fiesta?

Yes but you must have died a fiery death at least three times daily due to not being in an MPV the size of Belgium with a billion airbags each.
