Bought a second hand Parrot car kit and need to stick bits to the dash - don't want it all falling off the first time the sun comes out, but equally I don't want it destroying the dash if I want to remove it later on!

I understand 3M VHB pads/tape is very good - but will it destroy the dashboard if I try to remove? I can find rolls of it on ebay. Ideally would like to buy a few pads though...

NiceCupOfTea,

The tape is Acrylic Foam Tape or Very High Bond tape from 3M.
It's a structural tape, often used by glaziers.
Just Google a stockist and ask for a sample.
Failing that, mail me and I will post you some.

It won't ruin your dash.

Some of the best double-sided stickies I know are the number plate strips. Available from Halfords in various thicknesses.

Thanks guys!

Nobby, that's just the thing, can't find any local distributors :-/

Does the halfords tape have any thickness to it or is it just double sided tape?

IIRC they certainly used to sell the basic strips at about 1mm and then two thicker versions at 3mm and 6mm respectively, with a kind of stiff foam interior.

On the other hand if you buy a pack such as on this link
http://www.tapes-direct.co.uk/index.php?main_page=...
you can "stack" the strips in multiple thicknesses until you get what you want. They are so sticky they just love to stick to each other!
