what was an officer doing with an unmarked parked up at home?
Probably asleep and off duty. Not seeing anything from anyone to confirm the vehicle in question is a 24/7 patrol car yet?
So, I am making my own assumption that it is a CID car, that is typically used during the day/evenings - unless they are called out for a specific crime that needs Columbo/Morse/Lewis to attend.
But the car thief is some peoples friend all of a sudden??

They are doing WHAT?
You read it right. 18 month programme apparently... not sure how many they've reached out to (and no suggestion that it's confidential that they're doing it), but was approached about it a week or two back. http://www.college.police.uk/en/21594.htm

Not at all. I was just wondering why a car with blues and twos was parked outside an officers house. Not seeing anything from anyone to confirm the vehicle in question is a 24/7 patrol car yet?

I love it when people who don't know what they're talking about try to sound authoritative.
It will be equipped with an Airwave radio, which is linked to both the GSM mobile telephone network and a GPS system.
Isn't it possible that the car could be fitted with twos and blues but no Airwave? It will be equipped with an Airwave radio, which is linked to both the GSM mobile telephone network and a GPS system.

A friend of my wife's (on Facebook) shared a status yesterday - her female friend, with baby on board, was stopped by a grey Skoda Superb with blues and twos, and the occupants then apparently tried to nick her car, but didn't when they saw baby in the car seat, and scarpered. No idea if it's true, but a slight word of caution to anybody stopped in the Essex area by the 5-0 driving a Skoda, and dressed in tracksuits, apparently with Irish accents.

Hate to jump to conlclusions but... well you know.I'm surprised this is still going, surely the old bill have tracked their car down?
