Recommend me a 235 40r18

Hi all, will soon need a couple of new tyres on the spare car. Any good recommendations, long life good but not priority. Would like something that doesn't have solid bars all the way round it, so it has a modicum of snow ability, rather than the get stuck on a level car park sporty tyres. Thanks.
Ps car is a 2.3 mondeo.

Similar size to my car. I have used Avons and Vredesteins on the rear. I personally preferred the Vredesteins, but both are good mid-range tyres.

It's all a bit personal preference and subjective really, and you're going to get your 3rd different response in as many posts here, but I tend to run everything I own on Goodyear asymmetric 2s, if possible.......I have them on an Evo in the same size as yours, and they're superb, particularly in the wet. Fitted them to the IS300 Sportcross Lexus my wife uses, and it feels like a different car. Don't have anything negative to say about them, really.
