My girlfriend is actually starting an argument with me over this! She says they probably had better/ more important things to do with their time than look up the power of the engine in the car. Get a fking brochure, ask a salesman, or look on the iPad like they did in in the programme? Jesus, I can't believe some people will defend this kind of behaviour.
Bang it then ditch it you got a Baden son. Sorry to say.Edited by Mercury00 on Tuesday 22 April 12:35

The problem you have here is; clearly the owners didn't test drive the car, before they bought it so potentially the garage/salesman/Vauxhall could have been investigated for not making sure that the car was correct for them before they had purchased it.
Does sound utter madness though.
You didnt watch this did you? they did test drive the exact same model.Does sound utter madness though.

They test drove a Corsa, but not the model with the 1.0 3 cylinder engine. Hence the car on the test drive was fine, and different to the car they bought. Why do they think the manufacturers produce different engines ?

Having worked in a few dealerships I can say this happens very often.
I even had to paint the brake disc bells and calipers on one customers vehicle. Totally f.o.c as the threaten a letter to head office or the press etc
Do dealerships routinely give in to threats like that?I even had to paint the brake disc bells and calipers on one customers vehicle. Totally f.o.c as the threaten a letter to head office or the press etc

I think the dealers simply gave in cos they know fook all about the cars they sell and it was the easy route what with TV camera about the place.
I recently had a Vivaro in, it had been in the dealers for 3 weeks having a cold start issue looked at, £1000 later and it was back still the same, the dealers couldan't find the problem, i changed the filthy air filter and the leaking fuel filter (sucking air in as clearly showing in the clear fuel pipe) and it's perfect now, i bet if TV camera where there there would not have been a £1000 charge for changing bits that didn't need changing (glow plugs, GP relay, lift pump ect ).
As for the buyers, total fooking Aholes with totaly the atitude of this century "it's not my fault, somone should have told me" fook em, dheads.

Clearly all buyers should be offered at least a 24hr test drive in the exact model they're thinking of buying.
If only each dealer would run one of each model, in every possible engine and gearbox combo. In fact make that 2 of each in case one is out on a 24 hour test drive...TRUENOSAM said:

When I worked for FIAT head office we had a complaint from an Alfa owner. She complained that we didn't offer keys for left handed people, so when she pressed the button on the fob the key part jabbed the palm of her hand I even had to paint the brake disc bells and calipers on one customers vehicle. And there must be loads of people who've been "allowed" (ie not steered away from) to buy diesels when their use case dictates they ought to avoid them and have petrol.

Why was she opening the car using her left hand when she would have to put the key in her right hand to start the car anyway? I'm surprised she didn't complain the ignition was on the wrong side too. Gassing Station | General Gassing | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
