Don't Get Done, Get Dom (car related)
Discussion
What a couple of utter clowns. Poor performance, drives poorly, worrying loss of power. Correct it's a st and underpowered car.
Idiots - I've bought a TV and there's no colour.
Sensible seller - Yes, you bought a black and white TV without thinking it through.
Idiots - But I'm not happy.
Sensible seller - Boo fking hoo. You're an idiot and you've just learned a lesson.
That dealership needs a medal.

I'd like to have my own TV show called "Tough Tits, You Bought It". Each week I visit a chosen moron and explain to them why they're a moron.

I'm surprised that you can still buy a car that wont do 100 mph!
It was the 0-60 time that got me. 17 odd seconds! I like the way the Vx Communications guy basically said driving the 3cyl Corsa reminded him of how crap they are.
We've had a 3cyl Ibiza in the family and still have a 3cyl Colt and they both drive absolutely fine. Quick Google says they're around 13secs 0-60.
"I had a 1 litre car for years...a little Micra,a little run-around and it was great. I never had any problems with it"
Well that's because the Corsa is a lard-ass, tank-sized car. Coupled to a 1-litre engine..what do you expect if not juddering, hesitation and no power.
I am in total disbelief that these two fools did not research before buying the car and the fact that Vauxhall offered to resolve a situation that was not their fault is beggars belief.

The BBC should have perhaps lined up a few cars for them to try, to see where they are happy in terms of performance. With that in mind I would have strapped them into Redvictor or perhaps some mega tuned Nissan GTR and scared the living st out of them.
Not sure why Vauxhall produce that car if it so st, even normals find it too slow, even our C1 manages 12 and a bit to sixty and that is slow, 17 must have you chewing your own hand off.

How long before the bird is moaning it's not as efficient as it should be and asking Vauxhall to compensate them for it
LOL. Depending on her driving style the 1.2 might be better economically. But, like you said, she might write to Dom to complain about that!
With the 1-litre, your constantly 'ragging it' to get any power out of it so the stated 55mpg realistically will not be achieved. Many people (probably like the woman on TV) assume that small engines always have the best fuel economy, but this is not always the case.
I do understand why Vauxhall/Bristol Street Motors replaced the vehicle - Free publicity. It shows that BSM/Vauxhall care about their customers (no matter how stupid they are). Although they may gain new customers, this was a one-off and most people, even with genuine mechanical problems will be going round in circles trying to get the problem resolved and nothing will happen.

My girlfriend is actually starting an argument with me over this! She says they probably had better/ more important things to do with their time than look up the power of the engine in the car. Get a fking brochure, ask a salesman, or look on the iPad like they did in in the programme? Jesus, I can't believe some people will defend this kind of behaviour.
Save yourself future hassle and dump her. Edited by Mercury00 on Tuesday 22 April 12:35
hmm not supporting these dumb bds in any way but having been the 'lucky' user of a base model (4cyl 1.2 I think) Corsa for some miles I thought it was dangerously underpowered. I can only imagine how st the 3yl car is.
Of course these fools should be left to reap the fruit of their sowing the seeds of idiocy.
I like the idea of putting the morons in some high powered cars to see how it recalibrates their senses however.
