I love my 265 Trophy - capable of going to Tescos and back but also has the ability to perform great on track!

I shall do a trip to Tescos on Saturday and I will do a trip to the Nurburgring next Wednesday!

Do the owners of R26.Rs only use there car to go the supermarket? I doubt it.
That was the first place I took mine...

I currently have an RS250 as my daily driver. I think they are really under rated cars personally.
You been in a time capsule for last 4 years and not seen all the reviews, group tests, hundreds of Meganes at the ring etc. i think you'd struggle to call the RS250 "under rated".

Put the same tyres that Seat used for their "record" on the existing Megane and I'd be suprised if it didn't beat the Seat.

4 years of decent reviews still isn't enough to win over a lot of people though, Renault ownership is still considered 'risky' or idiotic by many.

I think they're no worse than any other dealers to be honest. I've heard nothing but terrible things about VAG dealers, but people still buy from them.

That said, after my experience with Renault being unable to order parts in for months on end after an accident - leaving my car off the road, and a conversation with a neighbour over a strange exhaust/manifold issue on his Clio 200 that Renault seem to be unable/unwilling to fix, I'm feeling pretty annoyed with Renault at the moment. I don't intend to get rid of mine, but I can't see me buying another. Massive shame since my car has been fantastic, but they're just let down by a poor dealer network.

Renault still at this??

Does anyone really care how fast a hot hatch laps a road in germany when they driving to Tesco?

Anyone buying any car because a professional driver can throw it round a track at licence losing speeds somewhere on the continent needs their head read.
I'd argue the nurburgring time is possible more relevant for a hot hatch than a dedicated track day.

If I'm researching a track car, I'd expect all the relevant information, including reviews and advice by people who know more than me about track cars, to be available.

For a hot hatch, that wouldn't necessarily be true - so I'm looking more for a single number describing where it sits on a practicality/performance spectrum.

I am well aware of the press admiration for the car and the numerous group test victories it has under its belt. What I meant was that the less well informed members of the public may see it as just another crappy French hatch and discount it without even driving one.

Come on assembled hacks of PH, put your coffees down and write the article tongue out

Megane 275 Trophy, various nice bits nicked from press release below:

Whole host of technical upgrades, on top of 10hp power hike, plus Akrapovič titanium exhaust system
High-end options include Öhlins Road & Track dampers and bespoke MICHELIN Pilot Sport Cup 2tyres
Exclusive looks boosted by Trophy branding on grey F1-style front blade and Trophy decals over the rear wheel arches
Cup chassis with limited slip differential as standard
Interior enhancements include leather and Alcantara Recaro seats with red stitching and alloy gear knob

I wonder how much it'll cost when it's launched, I quite like the look of it...
