Does this sound like the brake drums?
Discussion
Basically my van, transit connect, has started to make a nasty grinding sound at the rear, gets worse while braking.
It has drum brakes at the rear, I have never had a car with drum brakes before, so a little lost....
Does anyone have any advice on where I should look?
I'm pretty handy with a spanner, but never touched a drum before.

Took it apart earlier, as soon as the drum finally pulled off it was pretty obvious what was making the noise.
All these bits of metal were just inside the drum (no wonder it was making a racked!)
Would i be correct in assuming this is the adjuster that has collapsed?
Also i have noticed the hand brake now seems very weak, and brakes spongy.

Seriously hope it is!
The OP is otherwise driving a van with only two diagonally opposed braking wheels (half the circuit).
Will a motor factors sell the adjuster on its own?
I will avoid braking hard tomorrow, if you see a transit tomorrow, get out me way!!
