RE: £100K Garage: Create your dream fleet

Currently owned: VW Polo Mk4
On the shortlist: Single, no children so my cars are definitely going to suit me, myself and I!
My choices...
Ferrari Testarossa - http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/f...
Cost: £65,990
Balance:£34,010
Why I chose it: I chose the Testarossa because from the first time I set eyes upon it, it became my favourite and dream Ferrari, the one I would love to own. That classic V12 engine with the sharp angles of the body work is perfect to me, and it's a red Ferrari, can't ask for any more.
BMW E46 M3 - http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/b...
Cost: £10,700
Balance: £23,310
Why I chose it: Always desired one of these as an affordable entry into the high powered RWD coupe. Since I only have 2 seats in the Testarossa, the M3 would be used for the more daily driving, work/supermarket etc, as well as driving family and friends. The last M3 before the introduction of the V8 and also my favourite.
Lotus S2 Exige S - http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/l...
Cost: £21,900
Balance: £1,410
Why I chose it: Pure focused drivers car, the hardcore option out of my 3.

A 4WD 320d (M Sport no less), a diesel roadster and a tiptronic 911...
Name: OutofSync
Previously owned: VW Golf 1.6, Ford Mustang GT (1995, convertible)
Currently owned: Ferarri F355, Range Rover L322 V8 petrol
On the shortlist: I thought that I would immediately be drawn to the big name silly stuff (Lambo, Ferrari, Porsche) but, in the end, I couldn't quite put them in my "dream" garage". Perhaps that's something to do with the fact that I already bought my "dream" car, the 355, but more than that it's that I think that the dream garage should have cars which you'd be happy to keep forever if you had to; and most modern supercars don't make me want to keep them forever.
My choices...
Honda NSX, http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/h...
Cost: £30,000
Balance: £70,000
Why I chose it: Not my first choice of NSX, it being an import, but the NSX was the first properly fast two seater I drove and I fell in love immediately. None of the pretensions of its Italian cousins and all of the driveability. In fact, it is arguably a better drive than the 355, sacriligeous though that is for me to say! Very nearly bought one of these instead of the 355 but couldn't find the right one.
E61 M5 Touring, http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/b...
Cost: £22,500
Balance: £48,000
Why I chose it: Practicality, reliability and huge power. What more does one need in a car (except deep pockets for those oh-so-frequent visits to the pump!)? I've never actually driving this iteration of the M5, but if it's even half the car that the E39 model was, it will be a dream to drive. I would have gone for the E39 M5 but there wasn't a touring example available and also they're getting quite leggy these days. This one should be good for another 75,000 miles without missing a beat.
Abarth 595 - http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/a...
Cost: £13,995
Balance: £34,000
Why I chose it: Imagine this: it's Saturday morning. You've woken up, put the sausages in the oven and turned on the kettle. But wait, there's no Bl**dy milk in the fridge. The NSX and the 'stang are garaged, and the M5's running on fumes (again). A quick burn to the shops in this nippy little blighter will be just the tonic to cheer you up and get complete the onerous milk run!
1965 Ford Mustang - http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/f...
Cost: £34,995
Balance: nil
Why I chose it: This was a tricky one, seeing as I had already ticked the fast two-seater box, the city runabout box, and the practical family wagon box, I figured that something slow, noisy and impractical which only gets ridden at weekends was what I wanted. The car equivalent of me, basically. Yes, I've gone a few hundred over budget, but I'm pretty sure we could haggle a bit off each of the choices!

Bah! I get the same email error, then my connection crashed as I attempted to direct message Dan Trent.
Here it is, took me too long to write and paste to waste:

Previously owned: Golf gti mk1, Lancia Integrale evo1, Clio 172 cup, BMW z3m coupe, BMW mini JCW works S, BMW z4m coupe, ahem Vauxhall Omega (shed, honest)
Currently owned: e39 m5, mk1 eunos rs ltd
On the shortlist: this whole thing is a shortlist
My choices...
<Lancia Delta Integrale Evo1 : http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/l...
Cost: £15,995
Balance: £84,005
I know what they say, never go back but to be honest, since I sold my 'Grale its been the one car I've really missed. I'm aware of all the mistakes I'm making here:
1. Buying the cheapest 'Grale around (it seems well loved and original though)
2. Remembering the good times, and not the frequent trips to the garage
3. Buying an eighties hatchback that's had its price inflated beyond what's reasonable by collectors.
4. Buying a car I've owned before.
But, counting against all those points is that it's just so nice to drive. Wet and horrible cross country drives sorted.
Caterham r400 : http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/c...
Cost £20,995
Balance £63,010
Since I think every multi car garage should have a Caterfield of some sort I reckon an R400 is a good balance of crazy fast versus useable on the road. I know very little about Caterhams, but I reckon they should have uncomfortable seats, a roll cage and some carbon. Track days and sunny weekends sorted
Citroen DS : http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/c...
Cost £18,995
Balance £44,015
This isn't exactly the one I would pick (it's not black) but I think my everyday driving around car would be a DS. It's so beautiful. I could leave it there really and run short of word count. I can't think of many better looking cars, but add the amazing technology and you have a winner.
Amazing suspension - check
Headlights follow the road - check
Change wheels with nothing but a block of wood and a pack of Gauloises - check
I think I would even buy some smarter clothes to drive this. Trips to the local shops to buy baguettes, bordeaux and brie sorted.
Audi R8 V8 : http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/a...
Cost £37,989
Balance £6,026
I've saved just about enough for a v8 R8 and I think if most of the other cars are getting on a bit, then the 'supercar' should be the most reliable one around. One of those clickerty clackerty h pattern manual boxes is on my want list and recent experience of the m5 has shown me that v8's are right up my street.
I might even have saved up enough for the supercharger kit that EVO featured a while ago, but to be honest, most of that balance will be eaten up by the 'Grale! Nurburgring, Spa (Francorchamps) days and trips to the Alps sorted.

I'm going to try and do this without BMWs, as otherwise the list might seem a bit biased towards one marque. And if I left it until next year, the way things are going, it'd probably cost £150k

Apologies for the email issues to all who've attempted and thanks to those who've included their replies into the thread. I'll pull those out and fashion into stories in due course. Our tech guys are working on the email too - as I say it was tested before the story went live but for some reason doesn't seem to work on all systems.
I'll email to this effect too but seeing as the plan is to run one per week we're obviously well ahead of ourselves already, which is a great position to be in.
What I'll do is put these aside ready to deploy and as and when your number is up contact you directly and if the cars you've originally listed are no longer available we'll pick out some suitable alternatives that fit the bill.
Thanks all for your contributions thus far and I hope we'll be able to make this a PH institution.
Cheers!
Dan

Try again if you will.
This is a tricky one. If I had £100k to spend I'd spend a hell of a lot more on the first item, and import one fresh myself of the spec I am after.
£100000
http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/n...
-£1200 Nissan Stagea. I've wanted one for so long, and have my eye out all the time for when I have space and can justify the outrageous fuel consumption - a 25000 miles a year car this is not.
£98800
http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/j...
- £16000 Jaguar XJR. Always had a soft spot for these. Closest I've ever been was an S-Type which grenaded itself after 2000 miles in my ownership.
£82800
http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/g...
-£26995 Ginetta G40R. I like a lightweight as much as the next man, but I'd like mine with some practicality. Would probably save for a supercharged K20 swap or supercharge the Duratec at some point.
£55805
http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/n...
-£8995 Nissan Silvia S15 Spec R. Nice buzzy coupe. Lots of tuning potential and I just like them.
£46810
http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/s...
-£9495 Subaru Forester STi. Just because I like them.
£37315
http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/n...
-£26495 Nissan Skyline GT-R R34. Its a GTR, its Bayside Blue. Its the dream.
£10820
That last 10% or so would go on lots of upgrades.

I am not greedy.
I am.....For high days and holidays in the sun:
http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/a... £44,984
For getting in and out of town quickly with the swag:
http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/m... £6,495
For Winter, throwing muddy dogs, logs and shopping into:
http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/l... £16,500
For hooning and many other nefarious ways of losing your licence;
http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/l... £16,000
Just for schlepping around the manor and autobahns:
http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/b... £15,959
Which leaves £62.00, probably only enough to top up the mini or the Intergrale to get home, or a meal in a pub staring out into the car-park at any of the above.
