370 bhp from a BMW4.8 V8?? why don't they use the V8 from the M5 surely that would have +130 bhp?? and I am surprised by the limited top speed , my 226 bhp Porsche has a TV of 155mph , why is this so much slower for the horses? I do like the 4.2 seconds for 0-62 though I just cant figure out the rest?

Do you mean the turbo V8? If so, there's no way that'd fit, and it'd cause major cooling problems even if it did. 370bhp is more than plenty anyway. And who cares about "Vmax" in a car with no windscreen? If you mean the 5.0 V8 from the E39 M5, it's not made any more, and given how tight a fit the 4.4/4.8 is in there (with its single intake set-up) I don't think the 5.0 V8 would fit. Also it'd be much more costly and would only make c.30bhp more.

Although for your £70,000 you don't seem to get much more than a big BMW engine bolted into an old bedstead.
Whilst the traditional (+4 and roadster) have a basic ladder chassis with leaf springs on the back, The +8 is based on the aero chassis, of bonded alluminium construction with modern suspension (of all things!) all round. See below
(admittedly the body support is still Ash, but it is non-structural for the purposes of handling etc, its just what the panels sit on)

No need - just photoshop some on ...I went to a Motor Show in the mid-90s. At the time Morgan had a car with chromed alloy wheels. They looked great to my eyes. I'm now wondering if it was Charles Morgan that gave me a brochure.

I think your German TV may do quite a bit more than 155 miles per hour, but I understand there's some kind of electronic limiter that retards further progress.
nope Porsche don't fit that and the more powerful engine Porsches have a higher top speed. I assume that's the point where the power of the engine is matched by wind resistance & the 155 number is just a coincidenceLotusOmega375D said:
Are they allowed to get away with non-head restraint seats these days? I went right off the Plus 8 when they introduced head-restraints (in the mid 1990s I think).
Head restraints are great when touring as they reduce the wind at the back of your head! They are removable and when I'm around town or out for a blat, I take mine off and have two plugs to fill the holes. My Fury has an aero windscreen, I drove 1800 miles in 4 days to Le Mans and back, great fun. No goggles or helmet, just a hat and some glasses. A little windy and you get wet if it rains. You hear, feel and smell everything!
This (like all Morgans) is an event to look at and even more to drive, I think it looks so much better with an aero screen.
Love it!!!

I'm not sure about those exhaust portals. Do they double up as jacking points? Is one an exhaust and the other a jacking point?
Such an outlet positioned there looks a bit uncouth to me.
That was the first thing I noticed. IMO there should be two "pea shooters", one for each bank of cylinders and exiting at the centre rear of the car.Such an outlet positioned there looks a bit uncouth to me.
Side exits just don't suit the car

Looking at the normal (if that's not an oxymorgan) Plus8 then rear exhausts are standard (though quad pipes) with side exits an, uncouth, option.Side exits just don't suit the car
