Hi guys, sorry to post such a frequently asked question but l've run out of ideas.
I wanted an e46 m3 (obviously) but I think the mileage required of my new job will be too much to be averaging low 20s mpg.

Thanks for any help.

Rob.

You can either afford it or you can't.

If the commute is on interesting roads it might be fun in an M3 but if it is on the motorway it would be just as interesting in a 320d.

Alternatively a newer 330i would be more fun than a diesel and less thirsty than an M3.

I'm in the training stages of my new job but once that's over I'll be on the road a lot, using a good mix of roads.

if your worried about costs don't buy an m3.
Servicing items such as brakes and tyres, the Castrol Oil etc are all far more than your run of the mill stuff.
I found the m3 very good on fuel, about 29mpg on my trips to work.
I wouldn't want one for a town commute.
