A Scrappage Scheme Car For Sale ?

I thought the cars that were traded in under the scrappage scheme were registered as cat-A or cat-B write-offs so they couldn't go back on the road. I might be talking rubbish, though.

That's was them - on Rose Kiln Lane. Ours was Poseiden blue, which was quite popular on VTR/VTSs. They didn't see sensible choices for a learner though, even with free insurance, so ours was a more prosaic 1.1SX :-)

Am I correct in thinking that there is a way for scrapped cars to return to the road? I recall an advert for a W124 a year or two back which had been scrapped and re-registered, but was all above board

Bit of a sad reminder that some decent cars got taken of the road when the scrappage scheme was on. Still I guess all it would take is for someone to give the car a new VIN of a matching car and it could go back on the road. Legality = questionable
