They're mainly from Apex.

Maybe I got it wrong but I thought it was the other way round, in that Britool was owned by Facom.
Anyway, apparantly all part of the Stanley Black & Decker group now.

Last time I was in Costco there was a large blue tool chest and cabinet that looked good, by memory I think it was just over the £300 mark.

Having had a look at the price of Facom tool chests (& nearly suffered a heart attack) I reckon I`d put my money into the tools rather than the chest. A browse on Ebay will throw up lots of used but as new `Bisley` multi drawer cabinets which would probably last a home mechanic a lifetime

I'm tempted to get one of these. I the full price is £105 which still seems very good to me.

Lots on eBay that are identical to that for the same kind of money, available in different colours etc

Another endorsement for the Halford Industrial toolboxes - I bought the 6-drawer cabinet and 6-drawer toolchest for £399, inluding a free Halfords Professional 150-piece tool set

Currently on offer as a bundle for the same price, but not including the tools

To give you an idea of the quality, the bottom section weighs in at 56kg eek

Just as an aside, as part of the re-kitting of my very modest man-cave, I also bought a Hilka workbench that complements the Halfords Industrial tool cabinets very nicely

Check the dimensions before ordering. The cheap tool cabinets are often quite a bit smaller than the more expensive cabinets.

Im sure it comes down to £299 for the pair a couple of times a year so keep an eye out over the bank holidays etc.

Because of the cars I have I wonder if you can get combined metric and imperial sets these days or do Halfords only sell metric stiff these days?

yes I paid £299 for the pair just after Christmas. They're good quality and at the price I paid, excellent value.

What part of the country you in? I am North West.

I have a brand new (still sealed in box) Halford Pro top box and lightly used bottom cabinet that I will be putting up for sale soon.

I also have lots of sockets and other brand new tools I am looking to sell off from when I had my ebay shop.

Just trying to get around to organising it, but a quick easy sale without ebay fees would allow me to offer it at a good price.

Just thought it may be helpful for you.
id be interested in this if the op isn't, if you can, could you pm some details.
Will put together some details over weekend and send them over. Need to do this for ebay anyway so will be a good way of me getting my finger out.

My local B&Q has a couple of different tool chests that look very similar to the ebay ones mentioned earlier for £75 clearance - one of them even comes with some tools!

Very tempted.

What are you looking for??

Do you want a tool box - I.e a box to put existing tools into OR do you want a tool set as in new tools all in a fancy box?

I bought a huge set of tools from CostCo, Crescent professional 442 bit (there are 200-250 piece kits available to) and it's been fantastic. Then I got a halfords pro tool chest (8 draw ) for £79 as they were half price recently.

Also I fail to see how anyone can ever argue that you can have too many tools!!!
