I hope mods don't have to remove this as I find links like this useful. That car looks like a good honest example for what appears to be a sensible price. As for the post as to what they are like to drive?

They are not nimble but a good GT car that always grips far beyond what you'd expect. I'm a wuss in the wet so cannot comment on that but whenever I have driven one, they have felt well planted.

There is the fear that it is French so it will break but that is undeserved as the things that do go wrong are usually just niggles. You do need to maintain them as if they are an expensive car as when they were new, they were.

Remember though that these are very special hand built exotic cars. How many other under £6k cars can you get that are as special as a GTA and are still roadworthy. An A610 in the condition of the posters car would be over double the price of the GTA and whilst the GTA in some ways falls short of the capabilities of the A610, it certainly isn't half the car.

A shot taken boarding the Zeebrugge - Hull ferry a couple of weeks ago, thanks to the guy who just opened his door you can't see one of the original A110s at the front.

That shows just how backwards the facelift was....the original was SO much cleaner in the lights, exhaust and bumper treatment*...also it shows nicely how great the glass house, for performance car like that, wide and low, the visibility is fantastic..

  • I love the facelift though too... pop up lights and still a very distinct/original design..

BTW, does anyone remember the magazine advert, circa 1988, about the guy who's uncle had bought him an A110 for his 17th birthday? After all those years he'd decided it was time to chop it in for the new GTA Turbo
I remember the ad, presumably they were trying to extol the lineage of the Alpine brand to Brits in an attempt to sell more of the cars here, as the brand was/is less recognisable than competitors such as Porsche, etc.

Ironically, the A110 would be a much better car to own now, in terms of value...

There's one on a drive I pass all the time and it's in need of some TLC (Had no idea they were that rare!). Near Beoley in Redditch- anyone on here?

Someone from the owners club knocked on his door last year. He wanted way to much.
