As above and as I said before, if you are inclined to heel toe and roll your feet on and off the pedals in an attempt to be smoother with the controls(which takes constant practice) then your footwear can make a difference to it.

Onitsuka Tiger Mexico are good to drive in, give plenty of feel and are very comfy, but the square edge of the soles isn't ideal.

A rounded sole edge is better.

I've just bought a pair from the new importers at www.piloti.uk.com
They are also available from Demon Tweeks.

bizarre thread - though i recall being admonished here for driving and riding motorbikes in flip flops and also barefoot - not for any weightsaving or 'feel' etc just that was what happened to be on my feet

to have a special pair or to actually go out and buy shoes for driving a road car??????

do the 'speedcats' have lights in the sole like other kids' shoes?

how about gloves and a race suit etc etc

maybe a teddy bear for when your co-driver is unavailable?
Not for a normal road car , but the puma speedcats make driving my caterham so much easier and therefore more enjoyable , they really do make a difference

Love my older Sebrings. Got Brown & the Black / Red version.

Their newer stuff looks lovely, too.

Their £225 loafers look identical to my £65 DUNE loafers.

'Look' being the operative word. The unique heel and sole on my Piloti loafers looks cool and is very functional for driving.

Yup, the sole and the up-wrapped heal is pretty much identical to my Dune 'driving shoes' too

Just seen a £100 watch on the Ted Baker site which looks really similar to my £3k Omega Seamaster.

I wear Lonsdale boxing boots. Thin over-soles which are ideal for driving and fencing. Also boxing.

I have pairs of blue and grey Piloti Protitipo and am really pleased with them. Super comfy casual sued trainer-ish sort of thing, that happen to be more suited than most from driving.

As a motoring enthusiast, I don't think that's wrong?
I need shoes, so like this footwear, with a nod towards functionality.

It's not the same a string backed driving gloves etc

Wow.......so for work I have to wear patent leather/shiny shoes, everything else slippers/brogues/crocs (I'm 50).

My major dproblem is that I can't drive my E-Type in Crocs !

I had to put socks on and a pair of old M&S shoes on today just to go for a quick blast.

First World problems !

Excellent. It probably keeps better time too.

It sounds a bit over-priced, though. I prefer Casio.

Since the demise of the Adidas Goodyear Tuscany, the Piloti is the only way to go.
