i just dont get white cars
Discussion
But all the pictures shown above of white cars are pictures of good looking cars - they'd look good in any colour! Put another photo next to it of the same car but in colour and I would bet they all look a ton better!
The Sagaris looks great in white, but it looks a stload better in a nice pearlescent or flip paint. That RS4 would look better in blue. The RS200, on the other hand, should only ever be white. I like white cars, but there's usually a better looking choice.

o.k i know the trend is for white cars, but i see a new white car, black alloys and just think, why did you do it, it looks st.
i saw a 135m sport in white and another in orange, i thought why would anybody buy a white one, or i am missing something, where did all the colour go.
We just seem to be left with white, grey, battleship grey and light grey cars. is it because accountants all drive them?
I know people will post to cars in white and say how good looking they are and the paint technologies have made they better, but it just feel so dumbed down, so porridge.
Its because 90 % of people are sheep doing what fits in with the other dull and boring or what is fashionable, first a yob about town had to have a 3 series in silver or grey now its a white Audi just change the joke to suit = so that's the diference between an insert car and a hedgehog??i saw a 135m sport in white and another in orange, i thought why would anybody buy a white one, or i am missing something, where did all the colour go.

Its sad white is so fashionable it used to be the color of rally and race cars and a little bit unusual ..
Its grey interiors that I don't get ,truly horrid and depressing.

I have a white SL, I felt that it looks better in white than the other colours. Black hides a lot of the subtle curves on the car and I didn't really think any of the other colours were dramatic enough.
Plus, it's not an 'appliance' shade of white, of more of an egg shell sort of white, it's significantly darker than some hideous white Peugeot I parked next to the other day.
The latest SL is piggin ugly in any colour... In my opinion.Plus, it's not an 'appliance' shade of white, of more of an egg shell sort of white, it's significantly darker than some hideous white Peugeot I parked next to the other day.

I have never had a problem with white at all. It does not suit some cars but is tailor made for others. Of the 20+ cars I have bought/specified new, two have been in white, a 1987 Sierra and 1992 Nissan 200SX. BMW m135i is on my list for next car and white would be my second choice colour. Red was the colour I liked least but again certain shades work well on some cars. My brother has an Audi A4 Avant in Misano Red and it works well. I liked the early Golf GTi in red; iconic.
IMO any classic looks good in white with the exception of the NSX and Integra as white is more of a heritage colour in this application.
Any modern car in white just looks so bland, the SL above would look better in that red of the car next to it.
It just seems so generic when you pass another white Audi/BMW/Merc often in poverty spec in gleaming appliance white.

I never thought much of white cars myself actually, but I now own one and have softened towards the colour a little. The colour wasn't what I chose it for though - it came up as the best spec for the lowest mileage and price I could find and was an excellent deal. If anything, the fact it was white put me off a little.
However I went to see it and in the flesh, it did look very smart, so I forgot any reservations. I do still think it looks good, although I think I might prefer it even more in another colour. Keeping it clean is a bit of a pain, and for most of winter it just looked brown. Also, things like tar spots stand out like a sore thumb after washing which is pretty annoying.
My girlfriend likes white cars and I kept moaning on the way to go and view it that I would of preferred it in blue, so she was a bit smug when I turned out to think it really suited the car.

White just seems to be the 'in' colour since 2008 ish. I used to associate it with special models like the lovely RS200 shown before, Hondas championship white Type-R's and late 90's rally reps. White just seems to blend in now, no doubt there will be a new 'in' colour again soon to replace white.
Probably silver again!

If I had specced my car from new then it would not be white.
The trouble was I had a very specific spec list and this was the only car in the country that was not black (the worst colour IMO) with my ideal specification. I have grown to really like it and I think the black wheels finish it off nicely as the standard one looks ste.

White cars look good. White cars look right.
IN THE SUN.
In very, very warm countries. Not in the UK, or any other country where the majority of the year is spent freezing one's buttocks off. It just looks sad.
Every time I see a white car (especially if a convertible) I can't help but think it's the owner trying a little too hard to do the bella vita. 'All the stars and rich people in Hollywood and Miami drive white cars so I must look soooo glamorous and trendy'

It largely depends on factors like size, shape and design IMO. With some, it looks good (eg Fiat 500); others look cheap (eg BMW 3-Series). And I think a bit of colour can make all the difference

I like that - my favourite Boxster is the Spyder in white I've had a white Mk2 GTi, Mk1 MX-5 and Cayman 987. Each time, I wasn't really looking for white but the deals were good and I came to like the colour on a smallish sportier car. The GTi looked especially good with the old-style black bumpers, and I think I improved the Cayman by finding a set of black Boxster wheels on Ebay.
Finally, there's no colour quite like white for making decals look good:
