Weighted average calculated brim to brim for the last 90k miles is 50.4mpg

Don't have a photo, the E46 ghetto spec trip computer gets reset every day and reads 1.5-2mpg low anyways.

What route did you take Castex! My run to lake Garda (further up the thread in an X5) including a few stops was a good k shorter than yours but your average speed?! And your MPG from an e60 530d was something I never achieved with mine.

That, sadly, is an average over the 8k miles I've owned it - occasionally gets much worse than that....

Seventeen hours on my own from Newcastle-les gorges du Verdon (some way north of Nice) where I met my wife and kids who fancied flying for some reason. Then some bimbling followed eventually by Verdon-Monaco-Genova-Garda. Very little arsing about in Garda (busy with pool & partying) then we went Garda-Milan-Turin-Chamonix via the St Bernard pass
before reaching the most amazing campsite then Chamonix-Paris (Disneyland was a hoot) and finally Paris-Newcastle took ten hours.

Edit: Just seen your post. Not having bikes and a roofbox will have helped (luggage squashed tight against the back windows), and I was also pretty keen on the widows open/aircon off routine. Poor babies. hehe

This is mine from yesterday...

A not so slow run along the A303 to Andover then back via Warminster to Bath then back to Warminster

The readout is US Mpg so converted that is approx 21mpg, not bad for over 500bhp smile

Best ever; Brighton-Birmingham at 55mph in my Volvo S60 D5, in 2006. (Trip computer was about 5-6% out):

Normal was 42mpg.

More recently, Brighton-Dover in a 3.0 V6 SLK:

Normal was 27mpg.

Here is my readout from a 2.5 twin turbo V6 on LPG

Lots of round town driving doesn't help the figures but it's still more half the price of running it on V Power

Yes...mine spends most of its time towing this lard arse around.....and when it's not doing that it's dragging chain harrows or a big mower across the field...smile

That's massively impressive, struggling to keep mine at 30mpg overall average (2.0tfsi quattro)
