Used to have a problem with cars parking outside my previous house, I found letting the tyres down sorted the problem
If that is only half true, a PH HEX on you. That is a) illegal b) fking stupid c) attempted manslaughter.

Where is Garrlick, to ban you.

Did not have a a drive but the garage backed onto the side street, having cars blocking my garage was V annoying to say the least.
More so when my car was blocked in.
If do this approach, been out when the owner with the let down tyres is advisable.
There is NO excuse. Do anything but this. People don't check their tyres, and you risk someone's death.

Jesus, anyone who drives with one completely flat tyre without knowing it deserves to be removed from the gene pool, get over yourself!

In my humble experience 25% of normal people wouldn't notice a puncture. That figure goes up to 50% in my family. Are you suggesting my wife and daughter don't deserve to be on the planet?

Problem - car parking in front of house
Solution - let tires down so it cannot drive away

The level of genius on this thread is astounding.

I appreciate the wit and brevity of your reply. Sadly there seem to be a number on here that do not whom it will pass over.

You can't attempt manslaughter. Manslaughter is when a death occurred but no death was intended.

Attempted murder then. Probably a short stretch in Parkhurst and 6 penalty points.

Is it not your responsibility to check your car is in roadworthy condition every time you drive it ??
We aren't talking MOT either, just a quick glance around...tyres, lights, wipers etc.
If BiB are responsible for checking their vehicles, and any haulage people as well as any amount of professional drivers, then why should we not be responsible for our own vehicles ?
I like to think I am a responsible vehicle owner, after all, it can be a matter of life or death as has been proved within this thread.

Don't be an idiot.

It's incredibly subjective, depending on the type of car, the usual condition of the car, the size and make of the tyres, the condition of the roads, the type of driving undertaken... while I'm sure you're god's gift to all things automotive, in my experience even switched-on petrol-heads can miss a puncture for a while, from behind the wheel. smile

the problem is the political fallout from imposing the same standards that apply to 'work equipment' to personal use of equipment -

there's enough misplaced indignation from workers and the unions when telematics are put on work vehicles ... but than again the unions were originally opposed to tachos as well ( until they realised it criminalised drivers and operators running bent)

I can just imagine the wailing and gnashing of of many PHers who having put their latest vehicle through the company which they direct are faced with the requirement for a tracking and telematics system which requires you to answer a series of questions andperform a number of actions before you are allowed to start the vehicle ( google Crown InfoLink for an example that's mainly for MHE but in theory can be fitted to any vehicle) as well as a ll vehicles havign to be fitted with tachos and all drivers consequently having to have a tacho card / replace everyone's driving licence ( both photocards and the remainiong paper only ) with a smart card ...
