Parent and child space! Sone fkwit had the nerve to tell me I couldn't park in the "mother and child space" when I nipped to the shops with my 3 week old son. Apparently you're not allowed to use the spaces if you're male and in a "sports car" according to the 50-something aged harpies in Leeds. Sone people are just fking mental ...
Yes, but surely you could have written that without swearing - couldn't you?
If some old bat told ME that, I would be swearing too!

That almost deserves a slot on the Badly Modified thread as well.

Not least for the owner deciding to fit the same set of alloys favoured by a fair chunk of "sceners" and VAG's but still thinking he's "individual / unique" for doing so, but also for then thinking, "I know what will make my car look even better. I think i'll fit a set of BMW M3 style mirrors", even though that modding trend went out of the window about 15 years or so ago laugh
Correctly parked then as obviously mentally disabled.

I'm sure I could, but since I've not had much sleep for a while and I was livid reliving the tale I didn't feel much like adding a swear filter when the forum does it anyway.

One wheel on the kerb? - check.
Half-blocking the side road? - check.
Blocking (my!) drive? - check.
Plenty of space to park just across the road if they could be arsed? - check.

Just what is wrong with some people (LX14YTL)?

She said THAT!! after seeing your three week old son still in your car??

What was she?, one of those total morons that thinks their teenagers stil warrant a P&C space and get angry that you stole the last one for your infant??

(Edited: She DID see your infant in the car, BEFORE she said anything at all - Right??)

That Edinburgh one is odd. Seems to be a bit of an optical illusion that the railings are undisturbed!

Just a pic I saw online but seems relevant for the thread

So if there is no age quoted for the child can I park there if I take my mum to the Supermarket.
My mum is a pensioner and I'm in my forties - but still parent/mother and child ?

If the above sends them mental what would this do.
Probably not, on the basis that although you are her offspring you are no longer classed as a child.

No tell me Mr Car Park, what 10 year old needs a car seat.
Any one under 135cm.

http://www.childcarseats.org.uk/the-law/
The law requires all children travelling in the front or rear seat of any car, van or goods vehicle must use the correct child car seat until they are either 135 cm in height or 12 years old (which ever they reach first). After this they must use an adult seat belt.

Actually it was even worse, I'd taken him out the car and was putting him on the buggy. Her reasoning was that the spaces are for "mums who can't carry the baby as easily and men should be strong enough not to need the spaces". When I pointed out they are actually so you can get your kids in and out the car without having to leave them standing in the carpark / infant carrier on the roof while you reverse out she thought I was insane.

Thank you 'O' wise one, didn't know that, makes sense when I think about it, rules are rules. I wonder how many parents know that.

Unbelievable. I know when I'm on my own and park I can just feel the eyes on me... (our daughter is 4 months now).
