I think you should report the lazy twunt.

Could I be arsed if I was you, with not a lot of proof of anything? Probably not.

This "it's not our job" line is coming from the Police more and more - but the fact is they are the only ones who can hand-out on-the-spot fines and they are the only ones trained in how the law works with regard to the rules of the Highway Code.

Local councils have taken over some parking enforcement but that's usually limited to town centres and focussed on people overstaying meters or parking on yellows - but someone has to cover all the OTHER roads!?

There's much talk of a 'pavement parking law' but AFAIK it's already illegal, it's just the Police can't seem to be bothered to enforce it. If they do create a new law, I suspect local authorities will just use it as a cashcow which isn't ideal either.

As ever - people don't care what the law IS - they only care what they'll be punished for and right now, parking like a dick is not being punished.

p.s. I understand the Police have lots of things to do and this isn't the most important - but I have lots of things to do and I can't just stop doing lots of them because I'm busy!

At the very least I would have expected him to at least have a quick look to see if he could find the driver and tell him to move.

To 405dogvan. Report him. Definitely. And suggest a period of re-training.

I'd say most modern saloons don't actually fit parking spaces perfectly well.
Whilst your correct, some drivers would have trouble parking a mini in a parking space. I am currently in Oz, where spaces are limited on the streets, when I park, I get out and check the front and back are not blocking even a mm over the dropped curb to a driveway.

My Rav 4 (hired), only just fits in some spaces between two dropped curbs. Is it that difficult for others to check when they abandon the vehicles, obviously it is.

I have to say that when I see parking like that I do have to fight the urge to climb over the car.

Unfortunately, it's called 'criminal damage'

Yep, that's what holds me back. I did have to laugh when crossing a road in London once and a black cab had managed to be across the pedestrian crossing when the green man came on - one brave fellow pedestrian opened the door, closed it behind him, shuffled across in front of the startled passenger then got out the other side.

I have to admit, that old geezer's Chrysler Pacifica can take a lot of abuse!

Sometimes I think they do it on purpose! If you're that age you're big gonna be driving for long anyway, may as we'll lose the license with a bang rather than have the relatives take it from you.

Audi drivers and selfish parking seem to go hand in hand on here lately. What does the note say inside the rear screen?

Another exponent of the 'parking by braille' method we saw demonstrated in Millau in France a few years back.

There was enough space to get out IF she could have got in. Calls for a total closure alarm so she can open the windows with the remote then climb over the Audi through the open window of her Corsa. Obviously all without damaging the lovely paintwork with her studded belt & stilettos. evil

Thats not so bad in that they're both left hookers so you can get in a drive away. Still wouldn't be happy myself someone parking this close.

Had similar myself a couple of years back at the NEC in November. I'd reversed into a space & a foreign reg car drove in so his passenger side was 2 inches from my drivers door. Luckily I was able to get in & across from the passenger side.
