I have been known to abandon my car like that so it looks completely wrongly parked. Only because the dick in the spot behind has moved off after being in my spot too.
If that were me I wouldn't park in front of / behind the pitch-hogger for that reason - if he moved off people would think I'm the knob laugh

Neighbours opposite had a drive installed a number of years ago, however their drive and house is higher than the road, making the slope from the road to the drive too steep to tackle head on; as one would on a normal drive, thus the drive can only be entered from the left (looking at the house) side of the drive at quite a tight angle, to obtain this angle the dropped kerb is double the width of a normal drive's dropped kerb.

So in installing the drive, the road has lost two spaces; instead of the normal one space and to cap it off, they don't bloody use the drive but the occupants of the house park either side of the dropped kerb, leaving a two space sized space where the dropped kerb is; completely empty, they only ever park across the drive entrance when someone takes one of the spaces either side of the dropped kerb.

Really hacks me off as parking space is not at a premium on our road and they tend to come home earlier than everyone else, if I can, I park where they normally park so they end up having to park across the entrance of their drive but they park right up against my bumper; the guy who lives two doors down does the same as me but on the other side of the dropped kerb, again; they park really close to him.

Assuming mistype and parking is at a premium? They sound like the standard UK selfish/self-entitled types. Can you fit a towbar for the sole purpose of putting them off parking so close? If they don't use it and are therefore not on it, you could park across their driveway dropped kerb instead.

If the parking space wasn't really needed a couple of covered skips each side of their drive for a month or two could be hilarious hehe

I'm confused, why is this bad parking?
Steering wheel not centred. biggrin
And not in neutral.

I just saved your pic on my iPad, turned it cropped it, uploaded to photo bucket etc etc. Think a lot of folk have your problem when using I-phones?
A lot of phones rotate the picture in software before saving so that it always displays "the right way up".

Apple, having actually read the EXIF spec., chose to put meta-data into the image file to tell display software what it should do to get the photo the right way up and so save a few milliseconds photo-processing time so that the camera is ready faster on the phone for the next shot.

Most display software doesn't seem to honour the rotation meta-data, particularly web browsers.

The simple solution, I think, is to always use the iPhone in landscape mode with the button on the right.
I just wish I knew what all that meant.

It is generally best practice NOT to leave a parked car in neutral. Obviously.

Can't always help it, spots can be hard to find tongue out Range Rover with broken parking sensors make it harder as well. Nothing as bad as appears in here though.

Tut tut, doesn't the HC or some other driving manual say when parked on a hill leave it in gear with front wheels turned towards the kerb. Mind you don't this is the situation here biggrin

Good spotting though, I missed that. Slightly off topic, googling on parking on hills, found an American video, when moving off, he kept saying "Signal and check your mirrors", maybe a lot of drivers in UK have been reading the wrong manual.

Whilst that is bad parking, that space looks only just long enough for that car.

As we know spaces these days are not wide enough but I came across a car park where spaces were about the length of a Focus. A cheapskate council car park? No the one under the Brighton Hilton.

Multiply that by 30, and you have an image of my street. Twice a day, 5 days a week.

They're a bloody nightmare, the soccer moms / sad dads.

Some of them even have the nerve to park across dropped kerbs for half an hour at a time if there's nothing parked on the driveway. I came home from work early once and had to ask a woman to move her Picasso, she seemed totally bemused as to why a car might be flashing and honking her while pointing at a driveway she'd blocked rolleyes

Schools should be given the power to fine inconsiderate/illegal parking. The money then goes to school coffers to buy new stuff. Simple.

bkS to the schools....that would only benefit the dicks/dickessess parking badly for their revolting children.....the fines should go to the local streets residents to compensate them....

Yeah but, schools could actually administer this, whereas local residents couldn't. Schools get extra cash, residents get their blocked driveways back. Win win?

We live in a sort of cul-de-sac just off a busy main road, and the local primary school is on another long road off the main road. There's an alleyway joining our cul-de-sac and the long road where the school entrance is.

The long road has limited parking, because the whole front of the school gates area is yellow'd 'KEEP CLEAR' and there are houses opposite. People can stop briefly to drop off their kids I believe, but the school has wardens to stop people parking.

Ergo, our street becomes a car park for an hour each day.

It never used to be this bad, myself and my sister went to the school, it was far less busy. People used to actually walk to and from there (!), but now everyone has a 7 seater to carry little Timmy around, they have to arrive in the street and get the pitch closest to the alley entrance at (I'm not kidding) 2:30 when the school finishes at 3:20!

Then they'll stand by their cars gossiping for half an hour while their kids run over people's gardens, drop litter..

I often wonder if the world would end for them all, if the people that lived there cleared their driveways and parked all their cars on the road for a day.
