Forgot the camera, but came out of our local post office heading off to the left of the pic to my car parked down the road, and alongside the yellow parking restriction plate on the post was a 4 x 4 totally on the pavement and of course a bend, and double yellows, so my choice, go in the road or the grass.
Sitting in the said vehicle were two fat "ladies" smoking, so assume they had let another off to visit the post office, or the co-op for more pies. I said "Good parking" which resulted in a grunt...... By the way just to the right is some parking space, which was empty, but would mean "Walking" about 10 metres to the shop, God forbid.
Note where the landy s parked on double yellows, most choose this rather than walk a few yards to the shop.
I use this post office a lot, as its closest to work (still miles away )
I usually park where that white van is in the distance. Parking where you described is ridiculous, its blocks 2 junctions and would result in scraped sides if you squeezed past a RR. There is a rather large open air carpark behind the co-op too.
I hate aberdeen parking at times.
There's a similar situation about a mile away from here. Maybe Co-Ops and POs attract this behaviour.Sitting in the said vehicle were two fat "ladies" smoking, so assume they had let another off to visit the post office, or the co-op for more pies. There's a perfectly good car park with surprisingly wide spaces in it right in front of the Co' but the knuckledraggers seem to prefer to park on the road, (which is a bus route), directly opposite a traffic calming island effectively blocking the road to wider vehicles on occasion. I've even seen it a few times where the perp's will partially block the entrance to the car park while they nip in for their Lambert & Butlers and Bucky even though the car park is almost empty.
Perfectly exemplified by this Google screen scrape...
Well this might help stop people from parking on pavements... http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-34988833

Sooner the better, but who will police it. If they need any volunteer wardens, give me a bell.Vipers said:
