My only issue with your car is that it's a nice car so I wouldn't want to risk it.
Ordinarily I wouldn't have parked there, but I was running seriously late and my 4 year old, Harry, was chomping at the bit to get to football.

They would, at least, have had to brush down the side of my car to have done anything and the side of my car is more brown than red. Given the lack of anything, they must have got in on the passenger side.

Any other time, there's no way I'd have risked it.

They are currently building a cycling "super highway" in Leeds (a path essentially) and a local campaign group have been out testing sections of it and filming themselves.

fk. Well, I can see the logic of the driver. "Double yellow lines. No parky. Kerb without lines. Can parky!"
Logic?

This is the problem with driving licenses. They give halfwits a sense of superiority. "I have passed a test, therefore I know it ALL".

What they seem not to realise is that double yellow lines and other parking restrictions apply not only to the carriageway upon which they are painted, but also to any footways and/or verges that form part of the road. Too many of these cretins seem to presume that, because they haven't been fined for a parking offense, and have 'gotten away with it' up to now, that the offense does not exist.

As for that Leeds cycle "superhighway"? Parking within it will be the least of it's problems. It's chock full of mud, road debris and other crap. It it hasn't already, it'll soon attract 'yoof' types who seem to enjoy nothing more than smashing bottles "because they can". It will almost certainly never be swept or otherwise maintained, and I, for one, would not be willing to use it to cycle in. In short, it's not fit for purpose, in so far as I can see from that short video clip...

Well, the drivers just don't care and aren't gonna think too much about it as they're far too important to have to park round the corner and walk back.

Yeah, it's just narrowing the road. London is fked. They want to build another one.

Are you saying you don't think the yellows apply just because part of the footpath has been designated as a cycle track? You may be right but I'd expect the yellows to apply from the road centreline all the way to the garden wall.

I'm saying the driver didn't see them as per my original reply.

Hoofy is saying that he can see the driver's logic, not that it's correct.

How about some forced bad parking?

The taxi spaces at work (supermarket) are next to the blue badge spaces, very near the entrance. The taxis reverse into the spaces so people can load their shopping into the boot without walking into the path of cars.

Because the spaces are adjacent to the footway, there are metal bollards behind each space, in the centre of it.
This means that in order to allow the boot of most of the taxis to open, they all have to park half a space over so that the boot aperture is between the bollards. Firstly that means fewer taxis can fit, secondly it negates the use of the bollard placement anyway!

I'll see if I can get a picture in the morning...
Why don they use the pick up points. Then again some ignorant twunt usually "parks" there.

Looks like someone has already taken umbrage, judging by the dangling wing mirror.

Did you ever consider that this wasn't bad parking and actually cleverly thought through to deter others from parking next to me and banging their doors against my new car....I'm guessing not based on my assumption on your low level of intelligence, wondering round taking pictures of cars you'll never own. All the best you sad sad person...regards, prize plum smile
