At the Sunday Service i was literally laughing out loud at the shocking parking all over the car park...ferrari,s and lambos abandoned at any angle...cars parked with the white line smack in the middle.

But not one photo or bhin about it on this thread....double standards?

name and shame the bad parkers....maybe we could introduce lessons at the next SS so we pistonheaders can wear our smiley stickers with pride, knowing we are all good at parking
much like the caravan club ..if you have the sticker ,its common knowledge you can reverse park a caravan..its part of the package when you join
+1. Same with the terrible numberplates on some of the cars owned by PH'ers.

Standard procedure on my local roads,

Should see it in the evenings when people get home from work! You could probably walk over 30 + cars

3 Bed semis, mum and dad have a car or two then the older kids also have cars, meanwhile most front gardens have only room for 1 car, shared access drives between houses, garages full of junk (not cars) Welcome to the UK!

Should see the chaos when the bus tries to get down the road frown

I thought this looked familiar, can't believe they park like that in Banstead, well I can but at the same time I can't!! I'm tempted to go and have a look, it's only 10 minutes away and I've not been out all day..

I feckin' hate seeing this sort of muppet parked next to me when I return to my car. Straighten your car up, and straighten the feckin' wheels, you halfwit. If I see a car with the steering applied whilst parked, I won't park next to it, even if it's the last space available. Reason? I parked next to a JRG Mercedes estate in Fleet once, with it's wheels at full lock. The doddering old git (yes, I saw him leave his car as I arrived) must have reversed with the lock still applied, because when I got back, his space was empty and there was a massive dent and some gold paint on my front wing which cost me an insurance claim to sort out. rage
Oh, and looking down the flank of my Mondeo, you can see that it, and at least another eight cars in the background, can all fit into the spaces. So why can't this imbecilic Fiesta driver manage the same?

Thankfully (for the driver of the little C1) the DS3 driver was still in the car. Otherwise they'd have been stuck. No spaces in the car park? Screw it - make your own!

Two classics, obviously been parked for a long time, judging by the moss under them. But why, when the local authority have gone to the trouble of painting a box for you to park in, do you still insist on ruining the grass verge with your crappy parking?

to be fair to the DS driver it's possible he was using that space to wait until a space became available and had no intention of leaving his car there?

You could be right, but some do. One left her car along the end bay in a multi story park in Aberdeen, this was blocking anyone else getting past to another bit of the car park. If I find the pic I will post.

Found this on my phone - taken last year. Close to a local primary school. Presumably the child parked the car, rather than mummy.

I'm fairly certain that you are correct in that assumption, as it was at the University in Southampton on a split open day. I was waiting (in a space) to collect my wife and son from the morning session. I too assumed that the DS3 occupants were there for the afternoon session, and would park correctly when the morning session kicked out. I did consider not posting it, but having had 'issues' with similar parking/waiting types before, I decided to put it up for consideration. The incident I'm remembering was almost a carbon copy of the situation above, with the waiting driver sat with his seat cranked back doing a crossword. The grumbling I got when I knocked the window, and the deliberate slow pace of his actions to slide the seat forward, start and move off really annoyed me, especially when there were free spaces available further into the car park. Much like the situation with the picture above. I was parked, waiting in the middle of three spaces, within sight of the DS3. In fact I drove past him to get to the space I was in. Which is why I felt he was 'fair game' for inclusion in this thread. I'll try to do better next time, but I never seem to have my camera when I witness the very worst standards of parking.

This prize plum in the Crown Point Retail Park in Leeds this morning

Did you ever consider that this wasn't bad parking and actually cleverly thought through to deter others from parking next to me and banging their doors against my new car....I'm guessing not based on my assumption on your low level of intelligence, wondering round taking pictures of cars you'll never own. All the best you sad sad person...regards, prize plum smile

10/6 for the effort on your parking - very nice.

My brother lives in London (Stratford) with his girlfriend, who happens to drive a Ford Ka. They take great pleasure in wedging themselves into spaces such as the ones the RRS has left in places such as Westfield etc. where parking is at a premium already.

And to the bloke in the TT... Your car would quite easily fit into one of those spaces with a fair amount of room either side. I think the real problem here is that you just can't park - not that you're trying to prevent damage to your car.

Maybe the cars were parked before the lines were painted?

The better half returned to her car (Polo) to find the owner of the Honda thought this was acceptable parking in the local Sainsburys

Too lazy to walk?

Or is the Van having something fitted by the We Fit team where they ask you to park near the door?
TBH if you stick a van like that in square it's likely you won't have enough room to swing out if cars park both sides.
My Transit's the next size up and spaces like that would be a doddle, especially if you bothered to reverse in.
I was thinking of my local Halfords where even in a Caddy it can take two goes to swing out of a space (after reversing in) because the next row is too close.

I fear that you may have missed the point of the thread and taken unnecessary offence. I think that it is generally accepted that some people find it easier to park than others. The posts here are highlighting either horrendously inconsiderate parking, shear stupidity or just plain selfishness.
I imagine that even with your self confessed difficulties in parking , you would not park in disabled bays, crossings or anywhere that is obviously dangerous?

How not to park a skip this time, rather than a car. We have terrible trouble hereabouts with dribbling idiocy by builders: this from a few months ago, when next door was being renovated. That's our drive, BTW… …they couldn't see why we might consider this to be a problem.

Just had a row with some dick who'd decided parking across the drive earlier this morning and disappearing was acceptable behaviour. Had the full range of 'I was only going to be 5 minutes', 'I measured the gap', 'I could drive out of that', 'your car's not moved for days', blah blah blah.

All the while a warden was giving him a ticket for not parking in a marked bay, which set him off even more. And then the tow-truck arrived because someone had reported him for obstruction laugh

Usually I let it go but today I actually did need the car for an appointment.
