'Council' as you like. Get your cars OFF the grass verges and footways that our council tax pays for, you clarty fks, and stop parking ON the junction. You create danger for cars entering and leaving the side street, and for pedestrians trying to cross the road. Knobs.

Soooo desperate for their KFC that at no time did any thoughts about parking properly enter their empty heads.

And pavements are not designed to support trucks either me thinks. Parked on a junction as well, albeit into the depot I think.

What's the White line on the pavement?

Where was this by the way?

The white line on the pavement usually indicates that it's not a footway, but a 'Shared Use Path'. The white line is painted as an aid to cyclists to keep them from straying off down the kerb and onto the carriageway in the dark. I think it's because bike lights tend not to be quite as bright as vehicle headlights, and the white line is more obvious than the height difference between footway kerb and carriageway surface. At least that's my take on it, going by what I've seen local to me.

You gotta love Italy:

Matera parking. Quite a lot of Multipla in South of Italy.

"Look Gino, there's a space to put the car!"

Yeah, well... if only this was the only time I saw a car parked on the zebra. They just don't care and I love it.
Totally agree. Matera is a beautiful, beautiful place.
And all Italians are quite mad.

I am a very important person you know, (tard), where is my exclusive reserved parking place, it's spelt "Pick up point".

Well you don't want me to park in the almost empty car park with the rif raf biggrin

No, they weren't at the cash point either, not even parked at one end, but I managed to reverse in to load my shopping.

All it needed was a passer by with a big chunky felt tip pen to write 'YOURS' on the bonnet

They could try actually using *headlights* that light the road, instead of the george lucas leftover st 99% of cyclists seem to adorn themselves and their bikes with.

Saw a cracker today, but forgot camera, otherwise I would have filmed the duffer. Saw a gentleman of advanced years drive into a gravel car park, busy on left side, virtually empty on right side....however right side is in direct sunlight, and left side is shaded but also where the entrance to the "gardens" are. This guy drives right past all the parked cars to the large tarmac section next to the entrance to said gardens and parks with 2 wheels on gravel and 2 on tarmac. It is tarmac for the benefit of disabled folk to enable them to get out of the vehicles on a flatter surface. This clown then pulls up the disabled sign and moves it and places directly in the centre of the "smaller" space. And I thought I'd seen it all !! laughlaugh

How about this woman in the Fiesta? Just drive into the car park and stop, blocking the entrance completely. The picture makes the gap behind her look larger than it was.

She was still there 5 minutes later with the van still waiting patiently for her to move. It's a good job that there was only her picking up the most important person in the world from football training and nobody else wanted to collect their child, not.

I can't see why the van couldn't get through the gap...you say the picture makes it look larger than it was, but I can see clear air either side of the van.

Personally if the van couldn't get past, why wasn't the driver just sitting on their horn until the Fiesta driver got back?

If the van couldn't get through, give up driving, loads of room.

can you guess which car is mine? It's not as if I'm the last to arrive, I'm generally the first parked.

I might have to join in unfortunately, as I've already lost 1 wing mirror due to being further into the (wide) road.

They've recently upgraded a path near where I live and I'd wondered what the white line was.

That makes perfect sense, thanks! smile
