They're possibly just the driver for the disabled person, happily abusing the whole system while they get a pint of milk for them, alongside their own weekly shop.

[Yes, I also disapprove of disabled badge abuse for abled bodied people]
Or perhaps they have a disability you can't see.

Bloody hell, do they need to wear a badge to make you happy?

No, because that would be a stupid stupid idea that only a stupid person would suggest for stupid reasons.

.Just a disability worthy of the badge in the car would be sufficient - just like my mother has, in fact.

To be fair, they did only give six weeks' notice of the resurfacing.

Unfortunately, it is impossible to judge without knowing someone whether the disability is in fact worthy of a blue badge parking card. I often park up next to cars with my wife and she passes comment on the likelihood of the Cayman driver or Elise driver really needing the badge and I simply comment that we can't tell so should just be thankful we found a space where I can get her wheelchair ramp to fold out.

I hate the idea that people judge and mentally police disabled parking. Even worse when someone embarrasses themselves by getting all angry and going over.

For example, if I am picking up my wife from work while I'm off the following sometimes happens:

1. I legitimately park the car in an on street bay and set the blue badge, therefore no payment is required, because I am parking up so that she can get in the car once I have fetched her. (This is allowed)

2. Idiot sees this and spots me walking off into her workplace.

3. Idiot assumes badge abuse and yells abuse/writes snotty note/scratches car/parks illegally close behind exactly where I need the ramp to open up/reports badge abuse.

4. Idiot goes on forum to complain about people "scooting off" without checking facts.

IMO it is better to assume that badge use is genuine unless there are clear undeniable facts that prove otherwise. The system only works because of an element of trust.

I know it isn't perfect and that people abuse it but the rate of abuse is really quite low, it's the badges given out like sweeties to people who are simply getting older that annoy me.

People who are disabled and pass the legal test should get a badge, and get to use it.
People that borrow that persons car o visit the shops or cinema for their own personal benefit, should not.

People like you shouldn't jump to prejudiced conclusion and certainly should not be accusing people of saying something YOU actually write down.

I Dont encourage you to ever suggest I personally mentally judge, or police disabled parking again. Because I don't.

I often get dirty looks, always from OAPs, when I pull up with wife and set her blue badge,as we are not(verysmile)old
I always make it a point to jump out,and move about easily, and gets any kids we have with us out of the car,BEFORE she slowly hauls her ass out of the car using her crutches!

Bought a new MPV that uses up a lot more driveway space? I know, instead of changing the access layout to your driveway or parking a little further up the street, why not just abandon your other car half on/half off the road right on the apex of this blind bend where the road narrows due to a flint wall. What could possibly go wrong?

Is that their house in the picture? I'd give a "country toot" of the horn every time I go past, just to warn any cars coming the other way of course.

Yep, they're on the dropped kerb/entrance. Bonkers - unless they have shares in wing mirror manufacturers.

I'll admit I used to see able bodied people get out of their cars with a blue badge on the dash and 'wonder what's wrong with them?'...although the shoe's now on the other foot.

My 3.5yr old son has just had a double lung transplant. Because of this, he will be getting a blue badge when we're back in the UK so we have room to get him in/out the car and be near to where we need to be.

All onlookers will see is 2x healthy parents getting their child out the car and walking off...I can feel the public abuse coming already!
