Was admiring the car on the left before I realised the poor sod might have a few problems ahead.

Someone did that to me when I took the Boxster to Tesco a few weeks ago.

What's worse is that I then had to let the wife drive us home, as she was the one who could squeeze herself into the car.

As long as everyone parks in the designated areas in this road there shouldn't be any problems.

That's really letting the side down tbh frown In my 2 & 1/2 years of Exige S ownership I never had an issue reverse parking into spaces, etc, and that car had even less rear visibility due to the intercooler.

Parking is at a premium over Teesside Park on a Sunday afternoon and you get nobheads like this.

I would squeeze in there and just go sit and watch for the hell of it.

Or stay in the car. When he asks if you can move it, drop the line he probably uses a lot: I'll just be 5 minutes.

It looks like a dropped kerb encroaches on that parking lane. I would hope the parking outline trumps a dropped kerb though.

It doesn't.

I didn't think so. They must get so many people with that cheeky setup. I see it quite often.

I can't vouch for its origins.

This was actually carried out some years ago in a main shopping street in Brighouse, West Yorks. The offending lines on one side of the street were painted out within 24 hours as anything wider than a Mondeo could not pass between the lines.

Never under estimate the stupidity of some Council workers / contractors.

I only clicked the link to see the photo, and deliberately avoided reading the dribble that I knew would follow it, as surely as night follows day.

It's typical of the twin modern phenomena of "Me! Me, me, me!" and "fk me - do allegedly competent, qualified drivers really have this much trouble with the legal definition of a road?"

In the first instance, it leads to a lack of consideration, and an overwhelming sense of entitlement. Recent examples I've seen are roofers blocking a neighbour's driveway while ensuring they don't block the driveway of their client. Then making a big show out of moving their Transit, despite space two doors away to park about 8 vans.

In the second instance, they (only occasionally, mind) get their just desserts for being a knuckle-dragging cock socket. Morons like this ought to be able to appeal their tickets. But if the appeal fails, the issuing authority ought to be able to double the penalty, and add in a charge for the appeal panel's time.

How the actual fk does someone park like that, and then think that it's somehow OK?

Can't find the good parking thread....
That's a pretty amazing solution right there. God help him if his handbrake ever fails while his car is "parked".
