The BAD PARKING thread [vol3]

In my local supermarket which has a massive car park, I always park in the further farthest corner from the main entrance. It's usually very quiet and I can get an end space. Then, I will purposely overhang about 25%/30% of the car into the hatched area to protect against that moron who can't park unless they're alongside another car. Between my bodywork and the white lines is a space, big enough for someone to park in the adjacent bay and fully open their door without touching mine.
I do it because;
- It protects my bodywork
- It's the furthest from the entrance I can be, therefore usually a very quiet area of the car park
- The hatching area in question isn't a manouevering area or a sight line, just dictates dead space in the carpark layout
- It protects my bodywork.
Can you get an 'invoice' for doing that though?I do it because;

I would have thought that one of the conditions of parking is parking within the allocated spaces.

Judging from the amount of retards pictured in this thread (and what I see whenever I venture into supermarket carparks, which is seldom) there are no penalties enforced on idiots who can't park between the white lines in private car parks.I would have thought that one of the conditions of parking is parking within the allocated spaces.
The only problem with parking like this is even then, having parked as far away from other cars as possible and put part of your car into the dead hatched zone to create space on the other side, some brainless feckwit will inevitably park close up on your side as they don't care in the least about fitting in the spaces and just look for a car to line up with - the closer the better.

Whenever I have to park in a supermarket this is exactly what I do, my two local supermarkets both have spaces with hatches at the end of rows fortunatlyI do it because;

Or, perhaps, tie the wing mirror to the railings with something not very obvious?Then we can chain it to the railings.

[quote=thetapeworm]I shouldn't post this because they had their hazards on and everyone knows that cancels out any parking issues.
We've got roadworks in our little town with a narrow main street. No Parking cones have been placed in the parking bays on the narrowest part to maintain a clear path through when the road works traffic lights cycle.
Wandered down to the chippy yesterday, and literally parked on the cones was a van from CAP Glazing of Ripon, while his mate was in the chippy. I asked the driver if he hadn't seen the cones . .
"I've got the flashing lights on on the back" was his reply . . .
Maybe the lights make the van narrower? Or invisible to traffic? I'm tempted to email the company and ask if I can buy some of them to make my car narrower too ;-)
