Spotted in Marlow High Street and shared on Facebook ... Apparently this driver was dropping off some clothes to a local charity shop, but couldn't be bothered to use the empty parking spaces that run either side of the street.

I don't want to park too far from the door to the shops, sod anyone coming out with a pushchair.

With the run up to Christmas, to remind people not to park on DYL's they have put cones out as well, and this sign, which is hard to miss. It was opposite one of the vans.

Obviously doesn't work though.

Mind you I haven't seen a warden for ages, and poor old Mr Postman has to leave his van somewhere whilst he walks up and down to deliver letters.

Isn't clamping a Royal Mail van an act of Treason? I remember some old law about interfering with Her Majesties Mail or such.

I know this will go down like a lead balloon on this thread, but if a van is genuinely delivering I have no problem with them parking illegally. If they found a legal space and walked back for every delivery the entire process would take far too long.

That's a busy road at the best of times, cars pull up and go in for bits and pieces, it's not only vans, and we wonder why we have gridlock.

Waiting restrictions
Waiting restrictions indicated by yellow lines apply to the carriageway, pavement and verge. You may stop to load or unload (unless there are also loading restrictions as described below) or while passengers board or alight. Double yellow lines mean no waiting at any time, unless there are signs that specifically indicate seasonal restrictions. The times at which the restrictions apply for other road markings are shown on nearby plates or on entry signs to controlled parking zones. If no days are shown on the signs, the restrictions are in force every day including Sundays and Bank Holidays. White bay markings and upright signs (see below) indicate where parking is allowed.

Ridiculous shoot What, if anything, must her thoughts have been?!

Would have been most excellent if an old codger drove his mobility machine into it mullering a wing smokin

Pay and display car park this side of the wall. Town on the other side. And yes, exiting from this end of the car park, that's the ONLY pedestrian exit in sight. To be honest, if anyone headed to/from the Premier Inn next door were to scrape that car with their wheeled luggage, the car driver would deserve it. Grade 'A' selfish knob-cheese. There's even a drop off exemption from the DYLs closer to the hotel, enough to certainly allow you to check in and drop luggage off prior to PARKING PROPERLY!!!

Waddesdon Manor. National Trust house with a popular Christmas Fair and light installation in the garden. Every single piece of publicity material issued by the Trust is telling you it's gonna be busy. It's timed, pre-booked entry only to the house, FFS! Then one of the early arrivals goes and takes TWO spaces for an ageing Swedish barge that ought to be featuring in SOTW anytime soon. By the time we left the house and got back to the car park, the main and overflow car parks were full, and stewards had been parking cars on the grass alongside the driveways in both directions heading away from the car parks. Selfish, ignorant twunt!

No space left near the front of the shop/cafe? Just make your own space up as you go along! That empty 'paddock' in the background? Overflow parking if you please! And where, I wonder was it that Mr & Mrs Self-Important were in such a rush to get to...?

...why, it's Windsor Farm Shop, would you believe! So not only are you parked on the grass, but it's Her Majesty the Queen's grass. Bizarre that in the TripAdvisor reviews one customer said they'd been told of for taking photos of the outside of the buildings because it's "Royal ground" (no, I don't think I've heard that one either rolleyes ), yet there was no-one around to forbid cretins from churning the Royal grass into a mudbath. I believe someone may have lightly bumped it with a trolley too, while pushing the empty trolley back to the front door. Shame! It certainly looked too close for the driver to have been able to get out without resting the door on the car parked alongside.

The sign on the railings says 'Private parking for 12 Southgate Street only'.

(yes, I know it isn't strictly parking...)
Then 2 days later this happens!

Along similar lines, this is a very impressive effort...

That's the trouble with modern cars. They're all to big for the old garages...

Well, they could have at least missed the front door so the residents could get out to call the builders.
