Think I have sussed it, shop staff didn't have a clue, I think it is the area designated from the ped crossing to the end of the car park, for pedestrians to walk on, exiting opposite the shop front.

I'm surprised that the owner would even take a car like that to Stoke / Newcastle it's an awful place. I worked there one day a week for years

I think it was probably originally designed as the authorised / H&S compliant walking route from the main store to the PFS.

Your probably right, but does anyone know that? There is a similar one in town in a multi story carnpark but it's only on one level. Oh well.

Saw some Saab the other day parked in a multi- storey car park for a shopping centre on Sunday.

It was blocking the ramp to the second floor.

No photos because security were trying to get it towed.

Although personally, aesthetically it does look far better minus the plate or alternatively fitted with a smaller cut down / vinyl plate instead.
