Think I have sussed it, shop staff didn't have a clue, I think it is the area designated from the ped crossing to the end of the car park, for pedestrians to walk on, exiting opposite the shop front.

I think it was probably originally designed as the authorised / H&S compliant walking route from the main store to the PFS.
Your probably right, but does anyone know that? There is a similar one in town in a multi story carnpark but it's only on one level. Oh well.

smile
I reckon it's potentially more dangerous to walk right behind cars than further away where people can see you. Like riding a bike too near to the kerb.

Totally agree, bearing in mind most seem to drive in and reverse out.

Came back to this after a 10 minute shop. Luckily my daughter is very small so could get into her seat in the front still. Walked around the front of my car and the PT Cruisers rear bumper / wing was in a right state - had a very good look over my car to make sure it hadn't done it on mine.

If you look carefully at the back of the picture you'll see 2 cars taking up 3 spaces... packed car park too.

Whilst sensible advice is to reverse in and drive out (we enforce it in our office car parks) - it's a bloody stupid thing to do when you've gone shopping!

How do you enforce it?

Security do rounds of car parks and come to drag you out of meetings if you've driven in forwards. You generally don't do it more than once!

Ah, but that's allowed. That'll be the latest tv detector vehicle, slimmed down since the BBC cuts.

2 from the weekend. Not sure what's going on with the Renault. There's bays to the left and right BUT it looks like it's on private land. Weird.

You're either work for the MOD/government, or in North Korea..?

I'd ignore the fk out of that rule on principle!

That's a very quick way to a disciplinary. I work for a big oil company - anyone breaking Health & Safety policy tends not to last very long.

It's some H&S bullst about not being aware at the end of the day so more chance of running somebody over, complete bks, tore a strip off some jumped up nazi for wacking a self adhesive sticker on my windscreen when I parked the wrong way once.

Sometimes I wonder how these people approach a row of urinals - do they piss in between them ?
Given the state of many gents public toilets, I'd have to say yes, yes they do.

Yes. I didnt think the old girl deserved the humiliation of being in this thread!
I do if it really was parked there, I guess there's a chance it was broken down with owner gone off to get help. No hazard lights at that age, or at least no requirement to have them.

On place I worked at ( government ) didn't bother how you parked except in bays along the perimeter fence where you had to go in forwards - people living in houses around the perimeter had complained about car exhaust being blasted into their gardens

No pics, but I did a trail race yesterday that had to be hastily rearranged to a smaller venue. The car park (just gravel, no marked bays) was clearly never going to be big enough for everyone (and they emailed every entrant to say as much the day before), so when I arrive I park reasonably snugly next the car last in line of the ones already parked.

Then I see others arriving parking bang in the middle of the 50 metres or so of empty space yet to be filled. Why?! So inconsiderate.
