Judging by the various scrapes on the corners of this car the owner has decided against trying to squeeze it into those tiny marked bays. Or maybe it is there for the shade of that enormous tree later on when the sun is shining from the North.
Just needs 2 Smart cars to come along and park up one on each end. Instant karma...I came back to my shed the other day and found a large stormtrooper getting rather close to it, not touching but possibly had previously, the shed is already riddled with so many dings that makes finding new ones difficult.
They must have been really disappointed that the space right next to the door wasn't free so compensated themselves with #2 and #3 instead.
The lines in the hotel car park were faded so they all just gave up and reduced the free space massively:
Things were no better in the overflow parking:

Council spokesperson said: "Under part six of the Traffic Management Act, a civil enforcement officer can park on double yellow lines during the course of carrying out his or her duties."
How the merry feck is that right?
If he's obstructing the footpath or road then the police can deal with it, otherwise I don't see a problem. Lots of people are allowed to park on double yellows.Council spokesperson said: "Under part six of the Traffic Management Act, a civil enforcement officer can park on double yellow lines during the course of carrying out his or her duties."

That may be correct, but surely it's illegal to block the pavement? Council spokesperson said: "Under part six of the Traffic Management Act, a civil enforcement officer can park on double yellow lines during the course of carrying out his or her duties."

I live in Bristol, and the council and beyond ridiculous. They decided I owed them council tax for 2 years before I lived at my current address, and when I pointed this out their words were "but you live there now, so you're liable"

Yes, but parking on double yellow lines means keeping all four wheels upon the carriageway no?This twunt has 'wilfully obstructed' the footway, causing issues for the most vulnerable members of society. Where is the consideration for the blind, the immobile, the wheelchair bound disabled, and parents with buggies etc? Nowhere. Because it's so much more important for some petty twunt to not have to walk too far to issue a ticket than to allow people to exercise their "inalienable right of way" to walk upon the footway of a public road.
The idiot in the council liveried car, regardless of his absolute entitlement to do something, by means of exemption, needs also to consider the example he sets in doing so. It is not right that an authority seeks to hold dominion over the populace it was elected to SERVE by the use of regulations and laws which it does not comply with itself. It's called 'corporate hypocrisy' and it feckin' well stinks.
Also, why does the lazy fecker need a car to issue parking tickets? Purchase/lease of the vehicle, and associated fuel and maintenance costs all add up, and the council could, and really should, save that money by putting the parking warden onto a bicycle or Shanks' pony. The council should also discipline the idiot for bringing the authority into disrepute, apologise to it's electorate, and issue an edict to ALL it's drivers that obstructing the footway is something that it does not condone and will not tolerate.

Suspect same rule applies for emergency vehicles as well. But I do recall a camera van being moved on by plod.Council spokesperson said: "Under part six of the Traffic Management Act, a civil enforcement officer can park on double yellow lines during the course of carrying out his or her duties."
